It is a real thing, first done in South Africa. It comes with the same tissue compatibility risk as any other transplant. That means, taking a random penis off one guy and putting on another random guy isn't likely to work, they have to have tissue compatibility which goes into things like matching blood types, among other more complicated items. It is by no means at a point where it will be done simply for size or other cosmetic effect.

I'm thinking of doing a story like that, two dudes of really different ages, are good friends. How does he interact with the guy who got his penis, and how does that change when he goes from talking about the swap to having done the swap and then to dealing with the loss of his new penis? Make the reader wait to learn what's going on until the guy finds out. Get inside his head. I think it could be a really powerful story.

To be honest It didn't look like it was worth the hassle.

There was a total difference between size and girth of what was refitted it just looked wrong and useless although Mr Bobbit claims his does work.

I would guess that sensation would never return to a transplanted member but stimulation would be possible from the existing stump.

This is the best explanation I have ever read, and I thank you for that. I always wondered why I wanted to cut off my penis, even though I am not gay or transgendered.
