Do male-to-female transsexuals have sexual desires?

I think someone who wants to get castrated to "get rid of" sexual desire is taking a risk (of not achieving that goal despite castration). Lowered sex hormones usually will "take the edge off" your sex drive, making it more controllable (if you were a sex addict previously it might be easier to avoid porn and such) but as mentioned above you are likely to have some level of desire even if it is more of an intellectual, habitual, or curiosity driven thing.

Also, being fully without sex hormones can be dangerous to ones health. Unfortunately for those desiring to be eunuchs, sex hormones also play a role in more fundamental things like bone density, muscle strength/endurance, glycogen conversion, fat distribution and general metabolism, etc. So it is fairly common for people who are castrated to eventually go back to some sort of hormone replacement therapy. You can dial it in a bit (meaning getting some of the benefit of lowered levels) but it can be a bit tricky because exogenous hormones (through injections) can spike their levels in your bloodstream for a while and it can be tricky to get the right balance.

Anyway, just understand that you can generally achieve "reduced" sex drive but most people don't "get rid" of it completely. That is still highly beneficial to a lot of people who are distressed by their sex drive, but might disappoint someone who expects to be fully free from it.
