Eunuch Calm
Does anyone here who got surgically liberated recall how long it took for eunuch calm to set in? I was at castrate T levels for about six months prior to my orchiectomy on March 7. However, I'm now going on three weeks post op and I still get irritable. Today, for instance, I got into a nasty email exchange at work.
Perhaps, my expectations regarding how soon my feelings would evolve were less than realistic.
Thanks in advance for any knowledge/insight.

Re: Eunuch Calm
Irritability is a side effect of low T.
From what you have written above you had low T pre op so nothing much will have changed after loosing your nuts.
Perhaps you may want to consider some form of HRT.
Perhaps a low dose estrogen plan may help out.
When I last did the no T thing irritability was not an issue but felt apprehensive all the time for 6 odd weeks.

Thanks for your feedback. Regarding HRT, I take estradiol which I've been taking for almost a year. I do have a lot of COVID-19 related drama going on at work which started the week I came back from surgery. Perhaps that's more of an overriding factor than I realize.

"Eunuch Calm" is mostly a fiction that some folks are desperate to believe in. It might work for some folks, but is rarely a fact.

Re: Eunuch Calm
I have been chemcastrated twice. I did experience so called eunuch calm only during my first trial. Or at least I think it was eunuch calm what I experienced. During my second trial I did not experience so called eunuch calm, despite my T levels measured 17ng/dL. Which is pretty castrated level.
Talking about irritability, yes while I was chemcastrated I got openly angry few times which I never do in similar situations.
What I think, Irritablity is higher in eunuchs. It is more difficult to control his emotions for eunuch. Emotions feel stronger for eunuch.
Talking about eunuch calm, it is more related to sex drive and being restless due to high sex drive. It is when you feel that lack of sex drive and peace of mind as your thoughts do not jump to sex anymore.
I suspect that people whose sex drive is not very high before castration, wont notice that difference. Also, over time, as an eunuch, you stop noticing eunuch calm, as it is your every day reality. New normalcy.

Think of it as a honeymoon effect. You are ecstatic that you were castrated and then the initial euphoria subsides and you settle down into life as a eunuch.

Don't set the bar too high. After all there is no such thing as a perfect world. You did the right thing in getting castrated. Once you get settled down into life as a eunuch you should feel a lot better than you did before your orchiectomy. You won't ever have to deal with the nasty effects of having T in your body ever again. It is truly liberation.

Low dose estrogen has worked out great for me. I take 1 mg of Estrofem every 4 days. Been doing it for years. No hot flashes or side effects.

Good to know- I currently take 2 mg/day which is what I was on pre op- I wonder if reducing the dosage to 1/day would be as effective now that I'm post op.

I have been thinking a lot about doing this at some point.

I don't know if it is a "Eunuch Calm", but I don't think about sex at all. It gives me more time to think about other things.

Mounds_dont, that's kind of how I felt. I was so much more productive castrated. Didnt look at porn or chat on hookup sites. All that addiction dissapeared. That made me feel emotionally and mentally so much better. I felt so much more engaged in life. The stopping of the sex addiction, which I didn't realize was so a consuming part of my life, stopped. That's how i experienced Eunuch calm. It was wonderful.

I'm more laid back I now that I no longer have testosterone in my body. Things don't bother me like they used too. All the hypersexuality is gone and it's great I didn't realize how much control it had over my life. Castration has been an unexpected gift.

Re: Eunuch Calm
I stopped my 6-months of TRT at december 2018.
It has been a much more gradual decline and returning to post-castration effects, which was better for me to adjust to in the long-run.
I have had moments in-between now and in the last few months of 'eunuch calm', but it has only really been very recently that I feel this more and more.
But yeah, I have had my emotionally turbulent times along the way that are clearly attributable to my physiological changes taking place. You may feel a period of emotional turbulence followed by 'eunuch calm' as I have.
As I have read elsewhere, and I can confirm myself, it may make you a bit more catty, which for me is probably a good thing to not worry so much of what others think haha.

So glad to hear many others have experienced this freedom from the insatiable sex drive. It is a result of having one's brain marinated in testosterone. I've been without it for 3 years chemically castrated, and now coming up on a year surgically castrated. No E the first time, but now on full E-based HRT now. Both times, libido went away. But this time, I feel wonderful, and free! I wish more people could experience this state of mind.
The word "freedom" completely captures how this feels. Terrific, wonderful.
