Starting the Androcur

Post by Falcon (imported) »

To all of you who have been so helpful:

I've contacted my physician to have the pre-androcur bloodwork done, the Androcur itself was shipped from the UK and should be here early next week. On Friday, I'm visiting a friend who has similar interests and I expect we will have a little celebration when I take the first dose.

I intend to make regular posts here to keep you all informed of how this is going for me; any and all comments are most welcome. I hope someone will allow me to bitch when I get my first hot flash.

To tell the truth, as bad as I'm told hot flashes can be, I can't imagine that they are any worse than waking up at 5AM horny as a goat.....after having had sex the night before. Sigh.

I'll post a pic as soon as I get one scanned.

Santa dropped by today. This morning the mailman delivered my Androcur; just one week from order to delivery, all the way from England. Now I'm waiting for my doc to order up the bloodwork.

Impatiently,

Last night, having taken care of the bloodwork stuff, I started the Androcur at 100mg a day. After two doses, I don't feel very different. (Impatient? Not me!) But I am excited to have started and I'm looking forward to the changes.

Words of encouragement will be greatly appreciated !

Androcur is use to stop the production of testosterone not destory it.

Your body has a supply of testosterone already in it that has to drop off. I started to feel effects after 6 days. I also started at 100 mg day. Changes will occur at different rates for each of us.

You waited so long to start your road to an eunuch. Give the androcur some time to start.

I wish you all the luck and all the effects that you want form castraion.

Thanks Bobbie, I appreciate your comments. Like most Americans, I'm familiar with the prayer, "God, give me patience. And give it to me NOW." So, I'm being as patient as I can.

Terry, Congratulations on starting and for posting here. You know in theory from your research what is about to happen - correction, what has already started to happen:) - you are on course! The most important

lesson all patients and waiting patients have to learn is to be a "patient

patient". You are daily diluting and not replenishing testosterone now.

Events are underway - a lot of us guys are so happy for you!

Patience; two weeks say will encourage you very happily ;)

Well folks, two weeks of Androcur gave me just what I was hoping for. I was calm, my libido was practically eliminated.....I felt great. The medication kicked in on about the sixth day, and the following week was just terrific. Then the bruising started.

After consultation with my doc and some quick bloodwork, I find that either I was anemic before starting the Androcur, or something about the Androcur affected my circulatory system. Whatever was going on, I started bruising easily and small cuts were taking a long time to heal.

I've stopped the Androcur and I'm hoping things return to normal.

Anyone else have any similar experiences?

Terry

Hi All,

Seems like things are starting to get back to normal; I haven't had a bruise in a few days, and I'm starting to get horny again. I hope to post a longer response in a few days, I have some thoughts about the two very pleasant weeks of Androcur induced serenity.

Best to you all, thanks for your support.

Terry

btw, I have 2 weeks of Androcur if anyone wants it.

Terry,

I'm glad to hear that your bruising has stopped. I am thinking about going on Androcur myself as a trial prior to actual castration (I actually ordered some earlier this week).

How long were you on in total, two weeks? I'm interested in reading your take on the Androcur induced serenity.

Hi JimmyB,

Let me pass along some thoughts. I was on Androcur for two weeks. The first week produced no noticeable results, but about day six, I noticed that I was not horny, not thinking about sex, and generally upbeat. During week two, I felt fine, I had no libido to speak of, I was not getting erect, and I had this very, very nice feeling of well-being, which some have described as a "eunuch calm." I would call it feeling serene. The third week after stopping the Androcur was a bonus, I still was feeling like a eunuch the whole week. Sex drive returned slowly between days seven and ten after stopping the medication.

Please keep in mind: My case is unique (no pun) because you will probably NOT experience the problems with bruising and bleeding that I did. I am of English descent, an all my ancestors are from somewhere in the British Isles. There is an inherited blood disorder called "eliptocyctosis" which fair-haired, light-skinned folks of my ethnic background are prone to. Apparently, the medication exacerbated the existing condition, which resulted in my problems. I should point out that I also have had bleeding trouble (and indeed much worse) when taking even low doses of aspirin. My helpful doc suggests that I try a course of folic acid supplements for a month or so and then try the And. again to see if I still have bruising problems.

Now then, about my few short weeks; in the two weeks that I experienced the full effects, I was extremely pleased. I had new direction in my daily life, I was able to interact with others without mentally evaluating them as potential sex partners, I liked the way I felt, and overall, I got the information I wanted. If those two weeks are typical, I feel much more comfortable about the possibility of making this permanent at some future date.

Hope this info is helpful.

Terry,

Thanks for the info. I'm still deciding whether or not to actually take Androcur (I actually ordered it after reading about it in here, got off line, masturbated, and decided that maybe I shouldn't screw around with my jewels... I might need them someday since I would like to have children).

BTW, how did you get the nerve up to talk to your Dr. about the Androcur?

Note Taking any hormones or androcur or other durg to stop teestosterone production could lead to not being able to have childern. The is one of those your milage will very things. Like I'm very sensitive to estrogen but there individuals out there that never even get pointy nipples even after months of taking estrogen. So if you wish to have childern wait. I've read on the durg company web sites that it's safe to take for 6 months before the side affects start to become perament, that is depending on your bodys reactions you testicles may or may not start fully back up.

Terry, I was filled with enthusiasm for you at the outset when you started Androcur and very sad that such a rare condition meant you

had to give it up. I'm really pleased that inspite of the bad side-effects that you found so much serenity and learned so much about "feelings"

and also how you generally feel.

Good luck with it whatever your future choices are! Your experiment may have hit the buffers but it hasn't failed has it?

Hey Terry,

Just want to thank you for all the useful information you have provided. I'm on day 2 of Androcur. My plan is go with 100 mg a day until I notice a drop in my libido and then drop it to 50 mg. I don't want to go overboard ;-)

So, I'm taking up your noble experiment. Don't think of it as a failure, the information you provided has helped me a lot and may help others as well.

I'll try to keep the board posted on the effects.

i've always been able to talk with my doc about anything. this is really important. if your doc is not open to discussing anything and everything, it can be a problem for both of you. let me give you and example: let's say you've been playing with catheters, and you weren't very careful and you got a nasty urinary tract infection. you should be able to tell your doc just what happened. if he or she says, "well, playing with catheters often results in infections. are you sure that's something you want to continue doing?' then you have a good doc. if he says "WHY would you DO something like that ????" then walk out and find a real doc.

i had a doc back in the eighties who was APPALLED that i shaved my pubic hair, and who asked "WHY would you DO that???" i never went back. and i didn't pay for the visit.

TB

Feeling better in a lot of ways.....bruising is about gone, the cut on my hand is nearly healed, and altho i get horny, i have very pleasant thoughts of my time on Androcur.

TB i agree with you one hundred percent for i to had some bad experances with doctors .But that was comfroting with my present doctor is that he undre stood my problem and worked with me on my problem .It should not be up to the doctor to prescribe his values on you or us.Thanks for your post and good luck.
