Hi all, curious new member, long time lurker in the old archive.
I've always had an interest in castration for some reason, I never felt I liked my masculinity much, I never liked having sexual urges. My libido has always been fairly low but definitely not zero either, I never watch or like porn, but do masturbate once every two weeks or so. My wife used to want sex regularly, but now in middle age no interest in intercourse from her though we do lots of cuddles/caressing etc. So that makes me sexually frustrated and my old castration desires are being strengthened again - I would LOVE to not have sexual urges and have it out of my mind. That said, I appreciate the sight of of attractive women in the real world going about their day, and I think it would be a shame if that healthy appreciation would disappear. So that's why I'll not do anything radical, but still I am here out of curiosity. Would love to hear about your insights!
Best!

Welcome, I hope we can help answer any questions you have.

It is totally OK not to want to do anything radical, and we definitely tell people NOT to do anything irreversible unless you are REALLY certain about what you want...

That said, we have had many members that have found that getting fixed helped get their level of desire into a better match with their partner who is no longer wanting penetrative sex, but still enjoy cuddling and other contact - we often refer to it as "libido matching", and some choose it for exactly the reason you describe of being frustrated because she is not wanting...

I can also say that I still enjoy watching pretty women, but can do so without it distracting me from other things... It becomes less about "She's gorgeous, I wonder what it would be like to fuck her" (or whatever your kink might be... ) and more about just enjoying the view without the sub-context...

Thanks for your post, I appreciate it.
Reassuring to hear that after castration, there is at least some (platonic) appreciation of the female form left. I have very little desire to penetrate, but I do like to touch my wife. I wonder if that disappears.
And wow, libido matching, that sounds nice, romantic even. Having a loving cuddly relationship without the ulterior motive of sex sounds very... attractive.
A year or two ago my wife was at the dr to check out her low libido, and the (female) dr was opining that rather than hormones for women, men should get "fixed" instead. My wife told me and regarded that as completely obvious. That re-triggered my interest at that point even though I laughed it off.

You're welcome...

Because our respective disabilities making it incredibly awkward and difficult, my GF and I don't cuddle and hug as much as we'd like (colliding wheelchairs are a problem! ) but we both still enjoy it. Some have even said that their love life was better since they no longer had 'performance anxiety' and not feeling driven by a need to ejaculate he could slow down and focus more on simply giving each other pleasure.... OTOH, she was more enthusiastic since she didn't have to deal with the pressure of his desire to penetrate.

It sounds like your wife has a smart Dr. as one that would even be open to the idea, let alone seeing it's advantages for some... The adoption of the SOCv8 has made things a lot easier for those of us that wanted to get fixed, but it is still the case that our biggest challenge is getting past the medical profession's attitudes and getting a doctor that is willing to help us.
