📢 NEW SURVEY – Usefulness of the WPATH Standards of Care

A research study from the University of Hawai‘i is now open for participation.

🧪 The study explores how the WPATH Standards of Care v8 – Eunuch Chapter has supported individuals in accessing gender-affirming medical or surgical care (e.g., orchiectomy, penectomy, nullification).

📝 Participants are invited to complete a completely anonymous 30-minute survey to share their experience. No personal information is collected.

📚 The results will contribute to a medical journal article and help improve access and care for the Eunuch community.

The 2025 Gender Census survey is now open!

Post by WheelyFixed »

This is a recurring annual census done by Cassius every year, as a semi-scientific effort to track what all of us that don't do the standard heterosexual male / female binary role routine... I'm on the mailing list for it as I have taken it in the past, and this is a quote from the email he sent out...

They have been running the survey for several years in an effort to see what kind of words we use to describe ourselves and track how they change over time.

Their website is a very interesting read with several different depths of data analysis depending on how deep you want to dive, though they don't break down the smallest response numbers (i.e. countries with less than a certain minimum number of respondents) in order to preserve anonymity....

I especially think it is a help for as many of us to take the survey and see if we can get enough eunuchs in it to be at least somewhat slightly significant. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Here is the original Email I got, with the addition of putting the link as clear text, and getting rid of some blank lines...

The post broke most of the links - you can read it online at https://sendy.gendercensus.com/w/vUP8Gs ... TER1oM9YXg
Hi everyone,

The 2025 Gender Census survey is now open!

This survey is open to anyone, in any country, of any age, whose experience of their gender doesn't fit tidily into the strict binary of female/male. It seeks broad statistical data about the language we use to refer to ourselves in English, e.g. pronouns, identity words, titles. The results will be made public for use in activism, self-advocacy, business and academia.

If you're into that kind of thing, click here to take part: https://sendy.gendercensus.com/l/vUP8Gs ... TER1oM9YXg

Please do feel free to forward this email to anyone you think might be interested. It will stay open until at least 30th August 2025.

If you want to help more, here are some links for easy sharing. This volunteer-run, crowdfunded project doesn't pay for any advertising at all, and the >40,000 responses last year were gathered entirely by word-of-mouth.

Reminder - it ends in just a couple more weeks, get your responses in if you haven't already done so....

Quote (minus the graph photo) of the email from Cassian @ Gender Census<[email protected]>:
Hi everyone,

Just dropping by with a quick update - we're approaching 35,000 participants, there are two weeks to go, everything's basically going pretty well. Every now and again we get a boom year, and that was last year, because this year we're pretty much matching 2023 participation rates:

Graph. Day by day comparison of participation 2023-2025. Three lines. 2023 starts low and ends at about 40,000. 2024 climbs very steeply but has a similar curve and finishes with 48,000. The line for 2025 is shorter as the survey is only halfway through, and it's currently mostly following 2023 but it is maybe a smidge higher.

So I think it's quite likely that we'll end up with around 41,000 participants or so by the end, which is formidable!

At this stage, my main goal is trying to reach people who are outside the usual Tumblr-white-young-USA demographic. Tumblr has brought more responses to the survey than the next 5 sources combined (though this mailing list is very respectably in third place). The USA accounts for over half of participants, and participants over 30 are 23%, which is high for this survey but low for... everything else? 😅

This is where you come in. Your participation is the most important thing, but if you've already done that and you can help boost the signal, every share makes a huge difference. I know you know this but we don't pay for advertising, every year our tens of thousands of responses are from word-of-mouth alone.

So first of all, flinging the survey URL into formal and informal groups of LGBTQ+ themes is pretty great: https://survey.gendercensus.com

Second, forwarding this email is a pretty easy way to get it out there! Third, you can print some flyers https://docs.google.com/document/d/1FI3 ... =1&tab=t.0 and leave them in creative places. And finally, here are some sharing links for social media:

bluesky, facebook, instagram, threads, reddit, telegram, whatsapp, signal, discord, and the fediverse (mastodon etc)

I don't want to spam you all tooooo much, so this will be the last reminder of this year's survey being open. I'll send the next one when the report of the results is available to read.

For more information, see our website, gendercensus.com.

Thank you so much for your participation and support, everyone!
