Please Read & Help :-)

I have re-vamped the profile questions into vB3 format. This means that you need to go to your

USER CONTROL PANEL (http://www.eunuch.org/vbulletin/profile ... ditprofile)

And update your information (or enter it if you have not done so).

I have tried to match the old questions yet make it easier for people to fill out. In vB3 these fields are searchable, too, so that will make it easier for people to find others with similar interests.

Please click the link above, fill out the questions, then if you have any suggestions for additional questions, additional selection options, or any comments please post them back on this thread.

Thanks.

Nice update to the profile. The new options really make it easier to be specific about interests. The new format is more user friendly, too.

Alas, now we have to wait for folks to repopulate their profiles. <grin> That or there are only two gay males interested in penectomy around here. While sometimes it seems like that, I'm confident there are more out there.

So update your profiles, folks!

You left out "straight" as a possible orientation! There are certainly more than enough of us here that it's an important category.

Oops!!! That's why I needed feedback :-\ . Thanks Jesus ... straight now an option!

PLEASE everyone don't be shy if you can think of more options or more questions that are needed.

Hi Bboy,

As a transgendered person I find the topic of sexual orientation a bit problematic. Since I am m2f then am I gay or straight? There is lots of room for confusion here. I have the genitalia so physicaly sex with a man can be defined as homosexaul, but my gender is female so I don't identify with the term gay, but I use it because the lack of better choices. If I say I am straight it feels like a lie because again I have male genitalia. Whats a girl to do. I just prefer to say I am primarily attracted to men. Perhaps I and when I have SRS then I will say I am straight.

Thanks for the feedback ...

I added a category "Straight (Transgender)" AND

I set it up so a person can type an answer if one from the list doesn't seem to fit. The only think that people need to be aware of when typing an answer in is that it makes it hard for people to search for them using that profile field, where a stock answer will be searchable.

I would prefer birth sex to be optional. Let them search the archives for clues as to my past for I shall not confess except as needed.

ideally: male, female, other, prefer not to respond.

"birth gender" is generally regarded by the gender communities as an undefined term for the proper term is birth sex for gender is not evident except by questioning and observation. A natal child is not sentient enough to say what his, her or its gender is, but a doctor can in most cases declare a birth sex. You may wish to change "birth gender" to "Assigned Gender", but all fields should be optional.

You should always have a prefer not to respond field when your software requires a response because null is a valid state.

Hey Bboy - a good option instead of sexual orientation that would make it easier on anybody who doesn't fit the traditional male/female would just be to say, "What do you like sexually?" Then the options could be along the lines of men, women, m2f, f2m, neuter, nothing, whatever. That way you get around the problem of people like JemaGirl having to try to categorize themselves, and the "Transgender" category doesn't become a catchall.

I added "No Response" on the birth gender question.

I disagree that every question should have a "no response" answer or be optional. In most cases it's a very small thing to ask people to give very basic information about themselves in exchange for access to the services of this forum.

Zoroaster .. I like your suggestion except that it doesn't address being able to find people with similar interests. For example if I wanted to search for "men" (as in being attracted to men) not only would I get gay males, but all the straight females.
