The state of the Archive.

Post by talula »

Well, after getting my ass completly kicked by the same hackers as before, getting lucky about the backups, and getting my ass kicked completly again by vbulletin, I offer a message board.

I will do everything I can one step at a time to bring things up but I must examine every nook and cranny of the backups as I bring them online so while it may seem like nothing is happening, it is but methodically.

Sorry for this all, thanks for your patience.

A word to all who have access to the Admin area of this board? Change your passwords now to something at least 10 characters long. Do it right now.

Love to you all.

Tal, Thank you for all your work, I know with all the badgering you had to endure from certain users, that will remain nameless.

I'm sure that all are happy to see it coming back up

Thanks again

I'm sure most of you know this. For now, for those who need their fix on their favorite stories try Google.

Limit your search by adding "site:eunuch.org" after the search string. You can search for a story by keyword:

Example, the following search string yields 182 hits:

Meat Market site:eunuch.org

some of those might include the story you want. Click on the 'cached' version to read it in text form.

THANK YOU TALULA for working so hard to get the Boards back...we all love you....especially me.

As Yeah said, you were probably badgered to death by assbites like me to hurry up. Sorry about that. I was like a addict without his fix. I said on my iam page that I was grateful to you, Shannon and the BME techs for all working so hard to get our EA back.

Actually, I probably would have griped more about the missing Boards but someone, who shall remain nameless, threatened to use a castration shovel on me.

Thanks again

Love ya

Thanks Talula, it is great to see the Eunuch Archive coming back to life. I have missed all my friends here. We have to think up an appropriate punishment for the hackers, hmmmm!!!

Thanks to all for getting this great site back up and running!!!

I have been coming here for a long time now, and I didn't realize just how much I like this place. But I'm sure that you can't tell that by my posting numbers, but don't let the numbers fool you. :dong:

Once again thanks for the dedication to this great site and community!

Many thanks to Talula and all the staff at Eunuch Archive. All of you have put in a lot of time effort and hard work getting the site back up and going again.

It's too bad you guys have to go through this every now and then because someone somewhere gets their jollies out of messing everyone up. Maybe this will be the last time and we won't have to worry or be bothered with this kind of problem again.

It's been said manytime and many ways, but thanks for getting EA up and running again. Again.

Can empathise. Couple years back a virus hozed all the Windoze PCs on our LAN here. We were on the third iteration of restoring them all before we learned that they all had to be physically removed from the LAN, scrubbed and restored, else they infection took place again over the LAN. Tedious. Dreary. But the virus was anonymous. If hackers did you in, that's got to really piss you off.

For whatever it might be worth, we've since gone to an architecture where all the important stuff is kept on a SUN server running Solaris - impregnable.

Ok. While the stories are not generally available I went through them and uploaded them just now so they are back on The Archive.

2 hour upload.

If a user has the specific location and filename of a story it should be available to them.

I'll get around to putting the index back up sometime in the next few days.
