I've been out of town, as often happens, and didn't see this thread until just now. A quick look at BME shows no new postings/additions since 26 September -- a long time compared to the usual update frequency.

I hope all settles down -- I was just about ready to settle in to the regular routine and submit some photos of my PA to BME (and get the usual "free" membership for a while). We'll have to wait and see, I guess. . .

In addition, at some point in the last two-three days, ownership of the 'eunuch.org' domain name was changed to Rachel Larratt.

Wouldn't it be better for a member-admin here to own the domain name? It would be awkward to be deprived of it.

Yeah, it probably would be better. However, from day one BME has owned that domain name, and used to have a small site there. This was back when the EA was floating around from place to place, with no fixed address. Shannon and Bboy got together, and voila, BME donated the domain and server space for our use.

And so, should we be forced to move, there is no guarantee that BME will let us retain that domain name, and we may have to change addresses as well.

Thank you, Uncle Flo. I was wondering who owned that name. I was checking availability and was considering eunuch.cc and eunuch.tv as possibilities. Neweunuch.org is a better choice. Eunuch.com and eunuch.net are unavailable, of course.

I am making very regular backups of the site, so almost nothing should be lost, however there may be some downtime involved, especially if the site has to change hosts.

BME is (I think) the largest piercing and body modification-related website in the world, and IAM is their online blog/community arm.

Hullo everyone - can anyone PLEASE tell me what is going on at BME? I have belonged to it almost since it began - mainly thru my pics but sometimes thru financial support - iys now over a month since the site was updated and that is to me REALLY serious. I would lime to know if there is anyway I can help with whatever the problem is as BME - and of couse EA (to which I have also contributed - under Cliffjay) as it would be a disaster if either ( or worse still both!!) sites were to vanish in to the net ether!!!

Here's a list of suffixes. I found Togo on the map in Africa but it can't have too much beach but more than Gibraltar which is a "gi". Thailand is a "th" for third gender and there is one for Europe as a whole: "eu" for Eunuch but all the little countries already have suffixes except maybe that one high up in the Pyrinees between Spain and France.
