A Trip to Hospital

Post by kristoff »

The doc told me a month or so ago that the Feng Shui in my innards was all wrong. Decided he would have to re-arrange and tidy things up a touch.

The day has finally arrived that I have not been looking forward to, but wanting to just get it done and over with...

I will be checking in to hospital in about 2 hours, and having surgery in about four. I have developed a wonderful little anastimosis (sp?) with a fistula between colon and bladder. Causes no end of trouble. I expect to be in hospital for 4-6 days, and after that being a lazy wench, lying about eating bon-bons for 4 - 6 weeks.

In the meantime, If anyone has pressing problems that need attention (shoes tied, passwords, whatever), send a note to that Hunky Evil Overlord, Paolo. But do make sure it is something that needs attention quickly - he is busy with that hoard of little boys of his.

I am taking a laptop with me to hospital; they do have a wi-fi set up there for patients and guests. If I am coherent enough to function, I'll check in tomorrow or Wednesday.

I hope everything goes very well for you with your surgery Kristoff. I will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. I've had abdominal surgery a few times myself, and I know it's not a lot of fun. But it helps knowing others are concerned about you and how you're doing.

Kristoff I am glad you are getting that problem fixed. I can understand the problems a fistula can cause. As always follow you doctor's orders.

I am glad you are surrounded by so many wonderful folks in Minneapolis who will see to it that your supplies of bon bons will not run out. If I were closer I could show you my award winning sponge baths. I could even bring someone along in an item from the Cockpit and his palm frond in case you are too warm.

Please keep us posted and if you need anything at all let us know. You will be in my thoughts today.

By the time you read this you will be out of surgery. So I will say I hope every thing went as smoothely as possible and your recovery is super speedy and as pain free as posible.

Surgery sucks! I just had a pretty major abdominal surgery last week, now I'm doing my own share of laying around ((minus the bon bons.)) I hope everything goes smoothly, you're one tough cookie, I'm sure you'll get through this just fine! :)

Kristof do not chance too many of the interns and nurses. I am not just too sure how any nuns would react to seeing you in your habit.

All kidding aside I wish you the very best and fast, full recovery.

Your presents at the MOM's is a high light for many. Looking forward to another meeting with you. 👏 👏 👏 👏

GET WELL FAST you old nun.

Please, rest. I had my abdominal surgery in May, 2006.. They took out 6 inches of my colon. I did not feel myself again for 6 months. So, don't push things. I think a lot of every one at Eunuch Archive. You guys are special. My family.

Thanks, but there will be no bon bons for Daughter... never ever again.. Gastric Bypass surgery kinda nixes most things sugar like. Maybe some sugar free jello, or room temperature water?

I just got off the telephone with the Red Nun. He's in good spirits (we laughed a lot at his stories) and he is not currently in pain from the surgery. Modern painkillers are wonderful.

He thanks everyone for their concern and promised to be on the Archive sometime soon to read, if not to type. Think good thoughts in the direction of the Twin Cities.

Good Luck!!!! And don't lose that habit. Don't let them take it away from you. They're hard to find nowadays.
