Re: Midwest Meeting of Members MOM
My avatar on this post shows a possible T-shirt for the August MoM to be held near Minneapolis. Bobbie has suggested a contest for the best MoM souvenir, and this is Jesus' submission to the competition.

Re: Midwest Meeting of Members MOM
Well it looks like I can make it again this year, I will again be cooking pancakes on Saturday morning. I don't have any room for extras like last year as my son and his wife have moved in with me.
I am so looking forward to the MOM this year, I can't wait.

Yep, it finally happened.

I regret that I will not be able to attend this year's MoM. Family matters require my presence in other parts of the USA at the same time.
Big hugs and kisses to everyone.

Bud,
I understand but will miss you. If you will be anywhere near Ohio and have time I would gladly drive to see you. Toyota Echo will travel.

Just over 2 months until the MidWest MOM
August 8-9 2008 Minneapolis/St. Paul area
I sent out a personal letter to all the people I have on my list that showed interest in attending. I did not have a few mail address for some. If you did not get a letter and plan on attending please contact me through this message board.
Looks like this will be a larger and bigger hit then last year.
I am open to ideas on how to control the Red Sister this year.

With only two months to go, it's time to make your plans (if you haven't already). Bobbie is not only doing yeoman service in planning and arrangements, but he's also the gatekeeper and troll-guard for the event. If you are interested in details, such as the exact time and place, of the event, you need to send him a <Private Message> so that he can put you on the mailing list.
So far, there are about 30 names on the list! This promises to be the biggest and best MoM yet.

I love the Dr. Seuss feel to the title of this thread! I can just imagine his artwork for the cover of THAT story-book...

If anyone is in doubt please come you will be welcomed. If you are not comfortable being around a large group of new folks you will be at the MoM. If you are worried about being judged that does not happen at a MoM. If you want to relax and be your true self come to a MoM. We will be there to welcome you.

Re: Midwest Meeting of Members MOM
I hereby announce that the tickets have been purchased. (All thanks to OBB for that!)
I will indeed be attending this year's MOM. Please adjust your plans accordingly.
Moreover, the day before the official MOM (that would be the 7th) marks the official 10th anniversary of my castration. So this will indeed be a special MOM for me.

I am so ready to see everyone again and enjoy a little vacation time. I am also excited about new people to meet. I have arranged for my ride to the airport and hopefully someone will pick me up when I return. I only worry about getting there where the fun begins.

Re: Midwest Meeting of Members MOM
I got my 90 days notice of my impending layoff at my job. They are sending my job overseas to the Philippines. I'll be out of a job October 1st.
Not too sure how finances are going to go or how my job search will pan out with the state of the economy right now. The reason for my job going overseas was mostly made because of the state of the economy...
I highly doubt I'll be attending this years MoM. I'm sorry.

Here's a toast of schnapps to all at the MOM!
Alas, vill be on an African campaign.
They still vant Hillary over dare.
As to MOM, I hope you have souvinir Penectomy Pens for the event.
These are available cheap from China.
You just order ordinary penis-shaped pens, and they fall apart when you use them.
Don't let children suck on them, as they likely will be high in lead.

Incuse, I am so sorry about the employment situation you are facing. I am sending out positive thoughts for a quick and perfect "find" of a new position. Before I retired, I saw this happen many times, and still am confused why our elected politicians choose to ship our jobs to other countries. (I am not wanting to turn this into a political discussion, but it does irritate me very greatly.)

Re: Midwest Meeting of Members MOM
While here, I thought I would explain further why I will not be attending this year's MoM.
I had previously mentioned that I also would not be able to attend this years big MoM in Minneapolis (perhaps MoMiM?), and the reason being family matters. May and June so far have been very bad months. I just attended a memorial service last Saturday for my neighbor (35 years old). He was medevac'ed to Seattle on January 2 of this year, and died of an extremely rare blood infection after about 6 months in intensive care. Further, I will be attending another memorial service this coming Wednesday for a very dear and close friend. She died unexpectedly at home last Wednesday afternoon. I still have waves of tears coming over me on that one. And I soon will be in Texas so that I can visit with my only uncle, who is terminally ill with bone cancer. These are the reasons I will not be in Minneapolis in early August.
I just know this year's MoM will be a bigger and better event than last year. I truly would rather be at the MoM instead of doing what I am doing.

Great timing. I'll have been out of surgery for about a week and probably not able to fly. The first opportunity to show what I've not got called by a delayed departure. Next year....

Re: Midwest Meeting of Members MOM
To all attending the MOM check your E-Mail for an update letter. If you did not get one contact me at the archive.
Hard to believe that in 6 weeks today the 2008 Midwest MOM will be history. Most will have said their good bye's and given the hugs that will have to last till nest year. With all the rain the Midwest has been getting, I would hope that their will be none left in the sky for the MOM.
It is not too late to sign up to attend but, the dead line is approaching fast.

I, too, am sorry to hear about your job loss, Incuse. I was laid off at the age of 32 in a fairly bad economy. Your are in my thoughts and I hope you find another job soon.
Best wishes
