Hair today

Post by Danya (imported) »

I'm getting fed up with all this body hair! I thought it was supposed to start thinning out or something. I'm probably just being impatient. It's only been 11 1/2 weeks since I've been doing this chem castration thing.

Thing is, I think the hair on my chest and belly (I actually wrote 'tummy' first and thought that was a bit too much, even for me. OTOH, maybe not!) is growing less rapidly and may indeed be getting thinner. Not anyplace else, though.

I've been shaving my entire body, with the exception of severely trimming pubes and pits (there's something serious going on here. I really wanted to write 'under arms' :) ).

A problem with this is that my skin is extremely dry from low T. Shaving, even with that Philips body groomer electric thing, really irritates my skin.

Then, I'm always feeling an urge to scratch. I can resist this, usually, during the day although sometimes even then it gets out of hand. Like I'll remove one foot from a shoe so I can use a toe to scratch the other foot. Not a pretty sight.

At bedtime, I give myself a little reminder not to scratch. Of course, this doesn't work when I'm barely awake. I've got some serious scratches over large sections of my legs and torso.

Some of the scratching has been so intense and over a large enough area that it looks like I've got a rash. I don't mind being naking in the locker room without hair. I am concerned, though, about giving guys the idea that I've got some kind of communicable disease. Like an exotic fungus or this staph thing that they've put up warning signs about. Like wipe off the equipment with the sanitizing towels both before and after using it.

I'm trying some Eucerin skin cream tonight. I'm hoping that will start to help.

I'm not sure why I even decided to post this. It's probably the coffee I just drank. I'm supposed to be cutting back on the stuff because of the osteo thing problem stuff. Now I'm having caffeine withdrawal and need more of it to get rid of a migraine. Such is the life of a chemical eunuch.

Try triple action Gold Bond medicated powder. Works for me.

Removing the whole hair including the root is better than shaving if you want to prevent itching. I use a Braun Silk-'epil. Its electric rotating tweezers that pull the hair out by the roots. This last longer than shaving and is less expensive than electrolisis or laser hair removal. It works well on legs and arms but can be very painful, especially where your skin is not tight. I still use my body shaver on under arms and genital areas. If you decide to try, start small adding more area each time. Apply a good skin conditioning lotion after. If you can take the discomfort, over time the process becomes easier as the amount of returning hair growth becomes less. Remember at first it will hurt, so go slow don't jump in the middle of the thickest hair on your body.

I use Aveeno Positively Smooth moisturing lotion. Available at WalMart. It also helps me to shave less often and I have not had any problems with itching or redness after shaving my pubes. Maybe I have no problem with the shaving is because I use the Aveeno shaving gel that goes whit this lotion. I don't shave anything but pubes and between my legs.

THe epilators are great because pulling hair out by the root, damages the root and causes hair to grow back slower and sometimes not at all. It does hurt like a bitch the first time but after that it's not bad at all. I can go a week (easily) without epilating again where as I had to shave stuble everyday. Epilators can be used anywhere on the body except the face which would be unbearably painfull and cause serious ingrown hairs ans possibly scarring. Some people will say not to use it on pubic area but for me it works fine. There is a lot of difference in quality of these little machines but even the most expensive that I've seen was only $100. I think I paid $40 for mine and it works fine (Emjoi). Also, I would stay away from the cordless models due to poor battery life.

I went to Walgreens today and picked up this Eucerin dry skin anti-itching cream stuff. I'll use this at night because I suspect it will stay on my skin longer than the Triple Action Gold Bond powder, which I also got for after shower, etc.

I was extremely disappointed that Walgreens didn't have any of these epilators. While I was at an off-site training course today, I surfed the web to look for some of these. I couldn't remember all the brands. The ones I found, though, seemed to be available only through web order. I'll check this out further tonight with the info you folks have provided. I really like this epilator idea, pain or not. A smooth bod is worth it! :-)

I know target carries them on their web site but not sure about the store. I do know that Fry's electronics carries them in store. I believe you can get them at walmart.com as well as other online retailers or ebay. Good luck!

As far as I know low T does not give you dry skin. I have no problem with dry skin. It might be that if you are using a lotion which contains alcohol which may be affecting you. Usually the best thing for dry skin is udder ointment (for milking cows) which contains lanolin. Anyway that's my idea about dry skin. I use pinon salve on my knees once in a while too. But I also don't have much body hair too which may put me out of the boat.

Lot T does in fact cause dry skin, at least that is what the medical literature and my skin tell me. The notion of avoiding alcohol based lotions is a good one. Lanolin is an excellent lotion ingredient. Can't go wrong with sheep....

One effect of TRT and HGH that im having is the hair all over, something im NOT used to and is not im my "body image".. suffice to say Nair 3min formula works fine for me and i have had any problems with rash. I think because i leave it on for 10min it seems to grow back thinner every time.

After I use I use the "after lotion" and it both deactivates any residue and moisturizers.

This thread can get TMI way too quick.. lol

I haven't been using any lotions at all. Simply running a razor lightly over my arm causes a lot of dry flakes to fall off. This wasn't the case before I started Androcur.

My hair stays cleaner much longer than before I started Androcur. Used to be, if I didn't wash it every day, it looked greasy. Now, I can go 4 -5 days without washing it and it still looks clean. BTW, I noticed this at a time when I was sick and didn't have the energy to wash my hair every day. I typically take a shower every day! :-)

DonFL, I hadn't heard that the regular use of Nair causes hair to grow back thinner. That would be great.

Unfortunately, I'll have to let my body hair grow out a bit if I'm going to use an epilator. If I keep the end goal in mind of a smooth bod for a longer period with fewer problems, I guess I'll make it through :-)

Actually Todd, for pain management reasons I would shave hair first. It will only take a few days for a few of the hairs to grow long enough to be grabbed by the epilator. Different hairs will grow in during the following days and you an quickly run the eppilator over them. This keeps you from having to remove such a heavy concentration the first time and will hurt a lot less. If you don't mind the pain, you will still want to use some clippers to cut the hair very short.

Thanks you for the excellent advice, ramses. I hadn't even thought of this approach. It makes good sense.

Unlike the hair on my head, nearly all of my body hair retains its original color. I've thought of the laser treatments and may check into that within a year or so. In the meantime, I've got heavy expenses with the university gender clinic.

I'm in the Chicago area this week and wound up going someplace I usually avoid. The mall.

It was so cold here yesterday that I couldn't spend much time outside. After as little as two to three minutes, I can feel my airways starting to spasm. If I stay in the cold too long, and even a few minutes can be too long, it will trigger an asthma attack. I prefer to avoid that! :-)

So, I needed to get in some walking and I went to Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg. I stopped at a Sharper Image store as I thought, with the name and everything, this could be a good place to find an epilator. They did have them. I wound up getting the cheapest model, the Epilady. I figured if the thing would work for a lady it would surely do the trick for a eunuch.

I was really disappointed when I got back to the hotel, opened the package and read that I'd need to let Epilady charge for 10 hours before using it. So, I let it charge overnight. Before going to class this morning, I had just a few minutes to try it. I'll give give my body a complete treatment tonight.

On the way out, I noticed the store also had Swiss army knives. The Swiss are known for being neutral, although very protective of their own territory. It seemed logical to me that as a now more neutral person, I should have this knife.

Truth is, every time something goes wrong at work where a small tool/knife type thing comes in handy, guys are surprised I don't have a Swiss army knife. Now, I'll be just as prepared as the real men. :-)

I'm extremely happy with Epilady. She can be a little painful at times, pulling out the hairs by the root, but the results are worth it. One of the best parts is, unlike with shaving, there are no knicks to bleed. My skin now looks much better.

Hi Todd, I've started waxing. ouch. The epilady works on legs, arms and ?(chest) anywhere else? I love the waxed look but my chest is still red and it was done two days ago.

Hey Gary,

I use the epilady nearly everywhere including all but the last two inches of pubic hair above my penis. I've got to be careful there, because it is more painful to remove these hairs.

I severely trim back arm pit hair (as I've mentioned before, I tend to want to refer to this area as underarm now!? - I don't quite get this. I used to have no problem calling this area my pits :-) )

I also trim back pubic hair and shave my cock and sack. I think this is about as graphic as I want to get :-) I guess it can't get any more graphic.

Hey Todd, what model of epilady do you have. There seems to be several different models.

Thx Pauline
