Dr. Kimmel is very good and experienced at what he does. But as it is with all older persons, some of his information (i.e. "dial soap" may be a little antiquated But when the other guy is the one that is the expert It's usually better to just go along with them anyway.

i asked him about the cords reattaching in the consult, i cant remember exactly what he said but it was along the lines that there is no possiblity of them reattaching. it seemed like it was a non issue for him. when i call him back i will ask him this again.

i dont know if he had me use the antibacterial soap for prevention of infection of prevention of dirty balls.

I guess that shows what I know. I had no idea Dial was an antibacterial soap. I was told to use some weird medical soap you buy at the drug store pharmacy.

Well Dr Kimmel should be tuned into the problems with cords or? My surgeon and my pain doctor both made a large fuss about this and I've read a lot of accounts of it being a continuing problem to men who have undergone Orchiectomy. Perhapes he has some technique that limits that problem that I'm not aware of. Oh! And I know of at least two guys on EA that had issues with Cord Adhesions.

This is one reason why I suggest men insist on a Radical / Inguinal Orchiectomy vs the Scrotal. I'm also puzzeled how he gets the testes out with one incision down the middle? I thought the Testes were in "chambers" so they are not in one "pouch" together. I wish DonFL was here to answer some of this. I sure miss him...

:(Once the sack is opened he enters each chamber from a inside cut. He makes two cuts from the single external cut. Hope that helps a little. This is some what common way of doing castration.

Dial was used exclusively in the hospital where I worked for patient hygiene.

I insisted that my cords be cauterized after they were tied off. This kept me from having adhesions. Of course it would also prevent internal bleeding if they were not tied off properly.

let me just update this real quick so i can be up to date and not in flashback mode. the days following the surgery i laid in the hotel with my legs elevated and kept ice on the area. there was not much pain, some just along the incision. my days consisted of changing my dressings, getting ice and answering the door for the chinese food man... the good life. i wanted to watch some of the playoff basketball games but they werent on any of the channels in my hotel room so i went down to watch it in the sports bar there in the hotel. i saw a group of 20 year old guys all watching one tv so i went to go see if they were watching the game i wanted to see. it turns out they were watching american idol and looked really into it. i sat down at the bar and had to ask them to put the game on one of the tvs. i have no balls but im still the manliest man in the place.

the next couple days were just about the same, i walked around a little, i didnt do much site seeing. i saw dr kimmel on thursday morning, he did some examinations and said "i can tell you followed my instructions." he said everything looked good. he gave me instructions for the next month and told me how to take out the sutures out, im not really looking forward to that. then we parted ways.

my flight home was on friday night, the plane rides this time were a little better. i brought my own bottled soda on the plane. it rained in philly on friday so i was delayed by 20 minutes to my connector flight in SLC. i guess i was the last one they let on board. i sat next to a little kid. we were just sitting there and he goes, "hey mr....how did you get so big?" when i was your age i always kicked the seat in front of me........no no i cant say that... how about when i was your age i always gave the stewardess a little rap on the butt to thank her for the peanuts. after some thought i said "i always listened to my mom and dad, thats how." then his mom, whom i didnt know was listening, turns around from the row in front of us and looks at me with a desperate look and in a loud whispers goes, "THAAANK YOUUU!"

a week later and i have really nothing to report in the way of change. i thought there would be a faster drop off of T, but as of right now i have not experienced any side effects. i know i had a very high T level coming into this, during high school football they tested us to see if they could legally put us on steroids. i scored 1350 ng/dl.

Enjyed your account of the procedure. Mine was done through the inguinal canal in two surgeries. I was very glad to get mine out. No more pain.

When I read your first post in this topic I thought of you as an fantasist, even as an idiot.

I did not support, and in fact, I would still strongly disencourage castration at that young age, without a thorough chemical test drive.

Nevertheless, now I want to be one of your supporters. After having read more I think you have a very strong personality. I hope you can become an even more profound religious person.

I also hope you can be guided by people here with lots of experience. One day you will guide others finding their way of living.

well im excited to announce my first noticeable change as a new eunuch. i talked to jesus tunite on the phone and had just finished telling him about how i dont really feel any difference since the surgery. after we hung up i started folding clothes with the tv on. this commercial came on with these singing little puppies and they were jumping around and playing and i felt this tingling inside me, i thought why am i nervous, am i nervous? what is that, am i scared of somethi.... oh my gosh im going to cry.

just something about those puppies frolicking around and enjoying life made me really happy and i got all teary eyed. i ran to the mirror to see my first tears in years, i saw my watery eyes and had to laugh. i havent cried in over 5 years, and rarely before that, i consider myself a pretty tough/unemotional guy.... until now i suppose. i just thought that was interesting, has anyone else had any similar changes or do i just really really want a puppy?

Welcome to emotionality. One of the others here with whom I've talked said that one of his first signs of change was tearing up at a Mothers Against Drunk Driving commercial. The puppies are probably far better. You can expect to be much more strongly drawn to little critters of all sorts. Maybe you will eventually want a dog or cat.

You also mentioned to me that you seemed to have the first signs of a reduction in libido. That should be progressive and more noticeable over the next week or so. When a beautiful woman walks by and you spend your time examining and enjoying her face, you'll know that you've arrived.

oh hi, good to see you again. sit sit sit.

well it has been 2 weeks since my surgery. everything is going swimmingly. i went back to work last monday and i faired fine. i have noticed about 5 more changes since my last post. one thing about me is that i am not a hypochondriac, if i feel a side effect it is really happening. its not just my mind tricking me into thinking i have something just because i have been reading about it.

last friday i was working alone on a roof so i spent most of the day praying. i thought i was being baptized by fire by the Holy Spirit. but then i realize no im just getting hot. ah dam im having a hot flash. i tried to convince myself that i was fine and everyone else was cold but it didnt work. it lasted about 4 minutes and i thought ah man there was nothing flashy about that. it wasnt too bad tho. i have noticed a decrease in energy, nothing major. i have wanted to talk to people more but at other times i would rather just be left alone like usual. i dont smell anymore which i thought was rad. before i could shower in the morning, and if i had the house to myself, and didnt wear deodorant i could be a stinky boy again within an hour.

some other changes that have outside factors are my weight gain and lowered sex drive. i have noticed some weight gain and redistribution of weight but i have been eating more just because i was on vacation and got off my diet, plus im not going to the gym with the stitches in.

my sex drive is lower, i wasnt sure at first just if i wasnt jerking off because my libido was lower or because i just didnt want to touch things down there. but i dont wake up and have a yazzer for the first 20 minutes of my day anymore. so that could be a sign of lower sex drive.

so as of right now im not planning on on taking HRT, things are changing but i feel splendid.

welly welly welly..

it has been three weeks since my castration. there is not much to report in the way of side effects. the hot flash last week was the only one i have experienced so far.

my senses have been heightened, taste and smell most notably. the hotel i was in last week didnt have any laundry soap so i went to get some at the local store. as i passed down the soap isle i looked for my generic powder soap but i realized how good everything smelled. i looked around and thought hmm i will try the lilac vanilla scented liquid in the purple bottle. it made my clothes all smell great. but i guess it spilled all over the floor and when i woke up i put my socks on and slipped in the soap, i didnt think much of it and headed off to work. that day i had to supervise a concrete job. long story short i got my shoes all wet and as i walked away i noticed a sloshing foamy sound. i looked down and my shoes were extruding copious amounts of bubbles from the lilac soap. i got a lot of funny looks but i smelled FANTASTIC! castration heightened my senses but hasnt effected the randomness that is my life.

one thing that people forget to mention in the lists of side effects is; getting hit in the balls doesnt hurt as much. example; when i roll up an extension cord i wrap it around my forearm. the length of the cord+how tall i am+the size of my arm+the speed of the cord whipping around all add up to create the perfect storm bringing the plug end of the extension cord into what i call the "bingo zone." (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mV1LWhNp ... re=related) that storm brewed the other day and instead of putting me out of commission for 5 minutes, it actually felt kinda good.

my sex drive is sort of puzzling me, it seems to be bi polar now instead its previous manic state.

three weeks is when dr kimmel recommends taking the stitches out, but i am still getting a little bit of drainage so i am not sure the cut if fully healed. i can wait but i am looking ever-so forward to taking them out. when the long end of the stitch pinch you, it feels like taking a sharpened pencil and poking yourself on a sensitive part of skin. i have to take minute to adjust as i make that "yeah im having some trouble in my pants" face. if anyone has any advise on the stitches coming out please let me know thanks.

one thing i did not mention was the lack of orgasm. while reading over the side effects i really failed to grasp this one because it was not imminent to my well being. the lack of orgasm is a very exciting thing for me. i am just elated by this new development. it just adds exponentially to the spiritual side of castration. ahh sexual stimulation with no real gratification.. now i know how all my ex girlfriends felt.

4 weeks in and this week was strange. to be blunt, i do not feel any different. my sex drive was the same, if not higher, than before my castration. the one hot flash i had was the only one to date. my strength is still with me and i worked 12 hours today without even thinking twice about it. i can still concentrate well and multitask. i asked 4 of the most honest, upfront people i know if i seemed depressed lately and they all said no.

i took the stitches out on saturday and the wound wasnt fully healed :-\, i still havent been to the gym yet so im gaining weight.

i dont know?

Hormone changes are hard for the patient to observe in themselves (I think) and lots of it can be slow and subtle. Hang on. Its gets more complicated...
