(I edited Bobbie's post to put this right at the top of the thread.)
This year's MOM should be as good as last years. I expect it will be far greater. All members of the Eunuch Archive in good standing are welcome. We have no restrictions as to if you are an eunuch or not. No sexual orientation or lack of orientation restrictions.
A few good reasons to attend is to meet the people that you chat with in the chat room or exchange meaningful thoughts on the message board. Some of the biggest names of the EA will be present. The main event is on Saturday where we start off with Riverwind pancakes. The remainder of the day people come and go as they please. Few leave earlier then sunset. The day is a social event. People just mingle and chat with one and other. Share experience on interests, aspects of life, emotions. Being an eunuch is usually where things start out with but can end in any subject. One great thing is you will meet people that may share some of the same things that you went through your life. Talk how you delt with the problems. May chat on present life challenges as being an eunuch, living with one. Think you get the pitchure. All in all you will have a experience that you will never forget. Look at the threads from the past years on the different MOM's events. See what others have to say. This it the 4th year we are having them. Details will be posted to this thread. I will also create a mailing list. When details are released I will mail them to the list.

Hi bobbie,
I am very much looking forward to attending this year. Please place me on your mailing list for the details as they become available.
If this year is as good as the years past, it will most certainly be an event to attend!

Re: MidWest MOM 2009
Every MoM has been a great event, the annual Midwest version being the biggest and most festive of them all.
I'm assuming that, once the local crew agree on which August weekend works for them, the schedule will be about the same as the previous MoMs - Friday afternoon through Sunday afternoon. The "official" kick-off event will be a wine-and-cheese (plus other refreshments) gathering in the room that Paolo and I will share in the same motel as before. Saturday and Sunday will be spread across the homes and adjacent yards of Riverwind and Talula with food, drink, and great camaraderie. Early arrivals may genuflect at the Convent of the Sisters of Perpetual Responsibility with a BBQ on Thursday night and there will probably be semi-guided tours on Thursday and Friday nights.
I've already started on the T-shirt design for this Chinese Year of the Ox. (Today is even Chinese New Years!) While the Japanese and various Asians in the United States may think in terms of contented cows, the Chinese themselves are insistent that the "year of the ox" celebrates the castrated male of the species....
All-in-all, a great time will be had by everyone who attends.

Re: MidWest MOM 2009
Unfortunately it's not looking good for us this time.
Money is lean this year, and if we can afford to take even one vacation, which is unlikely, we thought we'd like to do something for my graduation.
Plus there is the matter of me needing to find some sort of job once I graduate. Assuming I am one of the lucky few who finds something, I don't know how likely it is I could get time off so soon after starting.
At this point we are not planning on it, but we will let you know if anything changes.

Please pardon my ignorance but just WHAT does MoM stand for?
As a member in good standing, ( I hope! ) I could possibly make it.

From what I heard a bit ago by someone who used Kimmel, mine may have never made it to medical waste. Just a waste basket.

Well mine were examined by some lab tech who might well have tossed them into the trash but "waste basket" I'm thinking of the poor Janitor <Shudder>

Re: MidWest MOM 2009
I attended the Midwest MoM last year, my first time. Before the 2008 gathering, Jesus gently pointed out why I had missed the 2007 event. He started that post with "Telling tales out of school".
I plan to attend the 2009 Midwest Mom and highly recommend it. If this is your first time, it's is a terrific opportunity to socialize with interesting, fun people you only know online. If you are a MoM veteran, you can meet new people while renewing friendships with others.
Hugs,
Danya

Re: MidWest MOM 2009
Well, my "members" may be missing (ala Kimmel), but I really shouldn't miss the Meeting Of the Members this year. Hopefully, my schedule will allow it. I am retired, but that merely means that I am busier than when I was working!

Re: MidWest MOM 2009
I certainly plan to be there. I'd hate to miss a MoM. They're such great fun. I'm in need of all the hugs from good friends.
Count on the Friday afternoon wine-and-cheese social at the same time and place as always. (For those who haven't been to the Midwest MoM before, you'll get the information in plenty of time.) I expect we'll all eat at the Hog Trough on Friday night, as usual.
