elastrator methods
when using an elastrator is one rubber ring used for each ball or just one ring put around the whole scrotal sack?

Re: elastrator methods
Depends what your trying to do. When I "play" with my elastrators, I sometimes put a band on each ball, it is easier to get the bands on, and I like being able to separate the two balls and torture them individually. I have some photos available of this. Other times I just put one band round both cords, more like a real castration. I don't recommend that you try to do this to castrate your self, and be careful if this is for play, you could do a lot of damage, and end up in the emergency room.

Re: elastrator methods
Please be careful, those rings are tough little boogers to get off. A "few" men have had some complications from banding after only a few minutes. You never know if you'll be one of these men and if you'll end up castrating yourself. Make sure you have a nail clipper to snip the rings off with before you start.

Re: elastrator methods
Hi, I sometimes thread a piece of cord or thin wire through the band before I apply it/them, then when play is over you just need to pull the cord/wire, and this will give some slack to aid the removal/cutting of the band. I don't always cut the band, I work my fingers under it, and stretch it and pull it off over my balls. This does squash the balls a lot, and is not without pain, but I find it better than cutting the band off, also less chance of skin damage.
Advice from Hash is good, play with elastrators is good fun, but there is the risk you could accidently complete the job. My thoughts are I do this as I am prepared to take the risk of castration, if I was not, I would not use the elastrator for play.

amm,
I think your idea of tying a string through the band is a good one, but are you using the little green castration bands? I've never ever been able to get one of my fingers through one and I've never heard of anyone pulling them off their balls. That's my experience.

The bands I have are Orange, it is very tight, but it is possible to get your fingers in and open the band enough for your balls to pop back through. It does hut though!

The bands I use are orange, too. But they are so tight I can't get them to stretch with my fingers. let alone get my balls back through. (Maybe I have out sized balls?) They have to be cut. And the snap hurts a LOT.

Re: elastrator methods
Banding squishes too much scrotum skin together and hurts like hell especially if the epididymus gets squeezed. You can't control the pressure with banding and it is way too painful and risky for me. Even successfully removing a band is tricky and painful.
Have you ever tried a nice wide workbench vice*. You can stretch the scrotum skin thin and wide and clamp down slowly in a controlled squeeze, making sure that only the upper portion of the cords are being crushed, not the epididymus (which doesn't need to be crushed, and hurts a whole bunch if it gets crushed). The more you do it, eventually the less it hurts (over time). Even so, musn't vice crush scrotum and testicles for too long; loss of circulating blood to the scrotum and balls can cause them to literally die from lack of oxygen, resulting in permanent damage and gangrene, even blood poisoning. Everything in moderation. Numerous repeat performances, not one single long performance, can be quite successful in numbing and rendering testicles useless, but unfortunately not as effective and desirable as complete removal of same.
*Wide workbench vices are hard to find, and costly, but smaller vices can be adapted with wide metal inserts. Screw down clamps don't work too well as they seem to get out of alignment and slip and don't exert consistent pressure along two rails or bars that one would use as a substitute vice. But you can vice crush one side of the scrotum and one ball cord at a time with a smaller vice. Never fall asleep doing this. If you just happen to enjoy T-torture, a nice wide work bench vice could be the device you need to investigate. Maybe several T-torture friends could pitch in some $$ and you could share a good vice amongst you. Have vice parties and see how many turns of the handle each person can take before calling it quits. This is getting demented. I better quit now.

Re: elastrator methods
Elastrator bands may be supplied in a variety of colours, mine are either orange or green and both do the job they were designed to do very well.
The ring is also meant to be used with an applicator, a tool with four prongs which stretches the ring. However the scrotum skin should be fed first through the stretched band, and then each testicle in turn encouraged so that when the band is released, the testicles are trapped correctly.
If you are serious about going ahead with the castration, the band should stay in place until the package drops off, usually about 20 days. The pain is unbearable for at least eight hours. If anything, removing the band is even more painful (!) and the recommended method is to use the applicator "in reverse" but is usually far too painful. I had a special surgical clamp with a slit provided so that the ring could be gripped safely then cut first before release. Better than that was two clamps held together, cutting in between whilst held, and then slowly parting. It is fair to say that releasing the band can be the most painful part of all.
Frankly, if you are serious about castration, use the callicrate which is much more powerful, but almost impossible to remove afterwards.

deadfairy,
Are you just playing with an elastrator? If you attempt to use it to actually castrate yourself, you should know that you will probably end up in the ER. You could be in for great pain, great embarrassment, great depression & possible regret. What's your intent? Hash

I often see people talk about the colour of the bands, and that orange ones are stronger than the green bands. Are they made of two different materials? If this difference is true then can we put numbers on it?

I've said this in other threads (and I'm not alone in saying it) -- Elastrators are painful and lousy ways to kill testicles in human beings. It hurts very bad. The human scrotum is tough and will not die and rot and fall off easily. And, it leaves an ugly scar that looks like an ugly scar.
That being said, to answer your question:
the various color bands used by different elastrator devices are for different animals. The stronger the band, the larger the animal. Smaller animals or less mature animals have smaller physical parts. Sheep are different than cattle. That's why there are different strength bands.

Re: elastrator methods
If anyone is considering using an elastrator for actual castration, bear in mind what it says on Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elastration : "Elastration is normally limited to castrations done during the first few weeks of life, and it cannot be used for species where the scrotum does not have a narrow base, such as pigs or horses." The human scrotum does not have a narrow base, and most would-be eunuchs are more than a few weeks old. If you are happy to be castrated like an animal, methods suitable for pigs are probably best, but consult an expert.

I just started banding and was wondering the same thing. Didn't find a satisfying answer on the internet but can answer your question now since I have both the green and the orange sort. The orange ones are more elastic than the green ones which have far more stiffer rubber. You can notice the difference when open the band on the elastrator in my case the heavy duty one. It is far more difficult with the green band to open the elastrator till the point that the metal clip can be applied to keep the band open. That means that when you apply the band relatively quick on your scrotum the green one will be quite tight already. I can clearly notice the difference in the deeper marks on my skin after the green one is cut. Also banding on your penis with the green one gives within minutes a burning sensation. Whereas with the orange it isn't as painful and you could say it enhances, help the erection.
If you keep banding limited to some minutes with orange ones there is in my view no real danger of harm to either your penis or testicles. It just give a much nicer orgasm. That is my experience anyway. Moderation is important unless you really want to become an eunuch. For me castration play is just a fantasy and I will keep that way. Also banding of my penis I will keep as short as possible. The other day I read a sad story of a guy in a penis enlargement forum who kept the band on for 5 hours. His girlfriend was very happy with him banding. When it was however totally unresponsive and gray of color he started asking questions. In the end unfortunately it had to be removed. He later posted that he was chemically castrated to avoid frustrations.
So there you have it my experiences so far with banding. Hope this information can be of use to others who decide to get into this kinky fetish.

Re: elastrator methods
So i bought an elastrator a while ago, but could never get it to work, could never get my testicles through. Today i finally did it! After shaving i rubbed a bunch of lard onto my balls then managed to push one testicle at a time through. I felt no pain, in fact ir was a very pleasant feeling. i remand banded for nearly 45 minutes. i had planned 30, lol, but it is actually rather difficult to remove the band. i used nail clippers. My balls had started to go blue, but no pain. The band has been off for about an hour now and they are just a little tingly and the color has returned, they are red and i can feel if i pinch them. It was a real rush to do it, probably not the way to do it permanently, a Dr. sounds better! I did use these on lambs many years ago for balls and tails. Can i post the pictures of my banded balls on here? i used the green bands.

I use strong dental floss and it works pretty well to pull the band away from the balls for cutting. I've still nicked my ball sack a few times cutting of the band

Sounds a little risky to me; using nail clippers....
Just go to the pet store and get some pet nail trimming scissors, preferably for cats as they are smaller. Once you see them, you'll understand how perfect they are for cutting castration bands, the little ones, from human scrotum. You don't even have to use a string of sorts to pull the band away from the skin.
The larger bands used with a Tri-Bander and such, are a whole 'nuther story to remove......

Re: elastrator methods
First off the bander or elastrator. This tool is designed to do one thing to castrate. In animal castration the tool is designed to work from behind the animal. In humans it works the same. It works better if your legs are pulled laying on your side with the handle pointed at your feet. While it is true that in most animals we use them on are young banding is also used in older animals. Today doctors are also using banding more often normally with hemorrhoids.
I have recently been researching danding castration as some know because of some health issues. While I have used banding in animals and have now spoke to several men ranging from mid twenties to late fortys how have had successful bandings. I have also heard first hand stories of horrible mishaps that have cause seriously dangerous health problems. What I would recommend to you eeven in play is to becarful. Because one slip can literally end up in the er or worse. If you are playing with a bad it can cut through your testicles in one shot the first time. Lubricant can cause the band to constrict to fast then a whole host of problems arise. Next don't use a live shot make sure if you play you leave a band on the tool stretched for awhile to take out the bands strength. The tool its self can castrate and rupture blood supply just like a burdizzo clamp.
