Remember when Mac had a mouse problem?

Now he has a rat problem, the two legged kind.

I do know something about opening up my house to others, my son and his wife, dog and now new baby moved in just over a year ago. They are moving to another trailer in the part next week, I get my house back. I am soooooooo excited. It will just be me, Rupert and Nelly.

That's only in question because you haven't seen Uncle Mackie's place. The first time I visited him, his second comment (after saying "hello") was "Don't worry, there hasn't been a drive-by shooting on this block, yet."

I didn't worry about then, nor on any subsequent visit. If you're ever in the neighborhood, give him a visit....

There was a time during the Great Depression when hobos were more common and were somewhat respected for their free living lifestyle. If I recall, the hobos of that era had their own language of a sorts and symbols were used to mark streets and houses that were either friendly to them or dangerous.

I need to do a lil research on them.

My grandmother's house was marked. She fed a lot of hobos and as a nurse she would dress wounds. I remember her saying many would do small jobs as thanks.

When I awoke at 8:00am this morning I thought, "hooray, all my money is in and I can pay bills." It appears only my $300 Social Security check came in. I went to buy basic groceries before paying all my utilities and the ATM bounced.

I called Wells Fargo who informed me my check was devoured by $400 in overdraft fees????. I pleaded for mercy based upon my senility and the fees were cancelled. In addition, the wonderful lady banker said she would redeposit $140 in my account tomorrow.

It seems my SSI comes in on Wednesday. I had told my creditors I'd pay them on Sept 2. Now it looks most will have to wait till September 3.

All's well that ends well.

Today I painfully forked out $455 to cover Electricity, Cable, Water Company and Telephone company. I didn't pay gas so I could have $60.00 towards groceries. The gas might be shut off but, since it's summer, I won't freeze

I just now finished transferring my phone service from Verizon to Time Warner Roadrunner. The new service was free for a month with free installation. The monthly charge is $19.00 plus free unlimited long distance calling.

This is a helluva lot better than Verizon.

Sometimes life sucks:

Monday I received a robotic call from Social Security saying, "someone at this address has an appointment Wednesday morning at 10:30am."

So, this morning i quickly walked the one mile to their office. It was then I found out I didn't have an appointment. My neighbor, who has no phone, gave SS my number so the appointment was meant for her.

By the time I got back home, I was tired and thirsty. I grabbed an ice cold DietCoke and then I was happy again.
