The list of senior places arrived here from Office on Aging. Many of them don't take calls on Saturday so I'll start calling Monday morning.
My black that I had in my closet escaped outside and I haven't seen her in days. My first thought at her escape was "Damned ungrateful wretch" until I realized this her first outside adventure and she's probably getting laid for the first time. I wish her the best

Mac I think that is illegal.

The Wolf is not troubled by anything as minor as the 14th amendment.

My cat returned last night for water, food and some cuddles then left again. I guess she prefers the outside life. Alas.

Flo - there are times that I feel like the proverbial sacrificial lamb.
I'm waiting
so I can buy ice, Cokes, soap and deodorant.
Though not on my property, sitting next door are three former leeches: Liz, her son and his girlfriend.

Well, I made it back from the grocery unmolested.
I called a few senior places and two are sending me applications. Most have a stove and a fridge but no furniture. Good thing I'm keeping my long table, wheelchair, table lamp (not lamb) and bed

I just returned from having lunch with my realtor where he had me sign and initial more paperwork. He said my house starts escrow today. I should be getting the first of my money within three days.
He bought me a BLT to go.
He said he'll be getting me all new clothes plus shoes

I called seven senior places today of which five have possibilities. Two were busy and would call me back. Three are sending me applications. One was handicapped only, and the nicest one has a 3-5 year waiting list.

Terry, the old drunk who used to sleep on my couch, was sitting on my front porch when I woke up today. I told him he had to leave as soon as he finished his can of beer. Terry then decided to sleep. I told him to move along or I'd call the police. He refused, or was unable to move, so I called the police. Terry said he had had a seizure so I called Fire Department paramedics. They called for an ambulance and just now took him away.
Terry is a harmless and inoffensive 50-year old guy but it's hard to sell a house with drunks sleeping in my front yard.

It's taking so long to even get an application to these senior places I am probably going to have to move into a standard apartment that charges $600-$900 a month rent plus utilities. From there, I can continue to apply to the senior apartments and have a stable base of operations with a reliable mailbox.

Hooray it rained today - well, for about 10 minutes, still.....
The mailman came early but I received nothing. My neighbor gave me two letters addressed to Monty at my address. I wonder if I get most of my mail.
I'm expecting a JITB gift card from an EA friend. No sign of it either.
Finally, it's raining cats & dogs, well, actually it's closer to moose's And squirrels.

I found Monty sleeping on my front porch about 10:00 pm last night an ordered him to move along. I waited 45 minutes and he hadn't moved so I called the police. It was a busy night for the cops and removing the homeless isn't a high priority so they didn't arrive till after 11:30 pm. They ordered him to move along and he moved.

As of this morning, my ration of food for the next several days was going to be fried potatoes and Diet Cokes.
Then EunuKen called me and told me he's sending me a $50.00 via a money gram. I got it, and now I can eat - hooray.
Thanks Ken

I finally received a return call from my local Postmaster. It seems the reason I haven't received mail in six days is because the post office had my house listed as vacant. They changed it to occupied and said I'll get my mail from now on. They said I need to go down to the Main Post Office tomorrow to get all my mail that has been held.
I couldn't wait. I went downtown today in the 93 degree heat -ugh.
I had three pieces of mail: two applications from senior housing and a JITB card from Sweetpickle

I met with my realtor today and signed more paperwork. He said I should have my money by Friday; it's going to be wired into my checking account at my credit union.
My realtor says for me to try to be out of my house by this weekend. Now I frantically need to find an apartment.
Wish me luck.

Liz called earlier trying to hit me up for $$. Just as she was telling the amount, her connection died. Haven't heard from her since.

Check with your credit union to see if they know anybody trying to rent an apartment
or home. Can't hurt.
Find out where the local law sends parolees, it's usually well monitored places.
Make sure the person you're renting from actually owns the place.
Fake rentals are a big problem here.

Tomorrow I have a busy day: (1) go get haircut/beard trim (2) check out nearby apartment (3) go to Credit Union (4) ask at Post Office the cost of a P.O. Box.
Actually, it'll be my first trim in like five years.

Actually, now that I've seen myself in the mirror several times, I think I resemble a WWII POW recently released from a prison camp.
