To Keep or Discard? What to do with an empty scrotum
I'd like some opinions, especially from someone who chose to remove their scrotum along with their testicles.
I had a simple bilateral orchiectomy, leaving two barely palatable little cord stumps and an empty scrotum. Although I believed the scrotum would eventually shrink, after a year it usually hangs as long and loose as when there were resident balls within. Anyone viewing my personal blog has seen my generous ball sack.
My problem lies in the fact that without the balls the excess skin tends to find its way between my legs, often chafing and irritating. I've seen a number of photos of sackless transsexuals and must say I like the look. The wife was ambivalent when shown.
A quick search of the internet located a nearby surgeon serving the trans community who offers separate scrotal reduction or removal at a reasonable price (of course insurance would not cover a non-necessary surgery). Broaching the option to my wife, she just shrugged and said: "whatever feels better for you".
So here's my dilemma. Naked, a cursory glance at my junk would seldom reveal anything was amiss. This is only relevant to say..... showering at the gym or strolling down a clothing optional beach in the buff. It's not that I would be ashamed or embarrassed to expose my castration at a nude beach, but it might cause some discomfort to my wife that she's reluctant to admit. Now we have visited nude beaches before (one just last year after I was castrated and not a single glance), and plan future visits as well. Alternately, a smooth look and feel under my dick would be both comfortable and, at least to me, aesthetically pleasing.
So who has gone for the scrotum-less look (and comfort) over leaving the sack intact? All opinions are welcome.

Re: To Keep or Discard? What to do with an empty scrotum
I want to someday be rid of mine. My wife plays with mine and that feels great but there is some issue with sticking when hot and free (naked or commando) with the right kind of underwear can control this during normal activities. I also don't like it when sleeping naked which is the way I have slept since 5. My wife doesn't seem real supportive of getting it removed if not causing problems. Mine is a lot better than at first due to shrinking over almost 5 years which makes it harder to convince her. Even when shrunk up and obvious I don't care who sees I like no balls and the look. The only thing that that she has really commented is that sometimes she misses my balls slapping her so maybe she thinks I will get false ones which I would not like at all!

Hi, I've been a eunuch for over 2 years after losing my balls in a climbing accident. During that time the empty scrotum has not shrunk at all and hangs down about 4" between my legs. I have a tgirl friend who has come across several castrated guys and says completely smooth under the penis is the best look. I'm having my scrotum removed, all off, in a few weeks time. Justine x

I went 3 years after castration with the empty sac hanging down. I kept being told it would shrink but after 3 years, I decided to get it removed and did so. Without it, everything is much more comfortable.

I'm not yet castrated but I hate more my scrotum than my testes, so for me the sac will be removed along with the balls. To me, it'll look much better.

seanthomas - Are you using any HRT replacement? If you're not using testosterone your penis will shrink and then your sure to get some looks at the nude beach. If you're using HRT replacement, then get your scrotum removed. Most urologists will do it just for asking. I would ask them to be rather aggressive, they left more skin behind then I wanted when they did mine. I've seen a lot of scrotumless eunuchs and I think it's a clean look, but it's up to you and what you want to do. I read about one man who asked for his after it was removed and he did get it back. He said he had it tanned by a friend. That's an interesting option. I would have loved to have had mine tanned and made into a change purse.

If I had mine tanned now after it is removed as much as it has shrunk up it wouldn't make much of a coin purse any more!

Re: To Keep or Discard? What to do with an empty scrotum
Based on comments I'd seen here about finding someone to do the scrotal removal not being much of a problem since I'm already castrated. I spent a couple of months last Summer searching for a Plastics guy who would do the job. While a Urologist might be willing to do it, it's really not their thing so preferably someone with SRS experience would be best.
While I found quite a few of them, Plastics guys, who did scrotal reductions and such, I was not successful in finding someone who would just do a complete removal. Some asked why I had been castrated and was I Trans. I thought that was a bit different because most of what I've seen regarding MtF SRS, they use the skin of the scrotum construct labia. Anyway, when I'd tell them I was not trans and that I'd had them removed to kill off my sex drive and some GID issues that I've had for as long as I can remember, I just wanted them gone.
Of the ones I talked to seriously about getting the procedure done including costs and scheduling, none continued talking to me after being told why I was castrated. So I gave up, may try again this summer.....

Maybe that is a function of being a Texan where everything is larger than life. If you moved to a country with little itty bitty coins (I am thinking of Chile), you might have a different outlook.

Not even sure that moving would help because you would need more coins just have to find different use I guess!

Got rid of mine, and much better without. Hard to tell that there were ever balls or sac ever there.

Re: To Keep or Discard? What to do with an empty scrotum
I still have mine, as it's filled with saline filled fake nuts. If anything were to happen with these prosthetics (the first set was recalled 4-years after implantation) I'd forgo them entirely and get rid of the sack too. It's a very pleasing look, and I can image very sensual to stroke that part when it's all smooth, the perineum still has many nerve endings too, and I'd think the sack area would basically end up being an extension of that area.
As to what people think at the nude beach, screw them, I really think for the most part nudist etiquette is to not "notice" genitals at all.

Back in the golden era of chat, we used to chat occassionally with a couple in Washington DC. Interesting couple and would love to get back in touch with them in case anyone knows them. He had a buddy help castrate himself before he met her. Sac was also removed. She would smile when she massaged the underside where the ball sac used to attach. He said that gave him lots of sensations. If you think about it, the nerves that give balls all their sensitivity run up thru there, so has to be a sensitive spot.

I found that after my testicles were removed there wasn't a lot of sensation in the empty scrotum. The area underneath though is very sensitive. Justine x

My sack still has a lot of feeling, but the thickness of the skin is greater on the left side than the right. Not sure what that's about, but it seems more tissue is missing on the right side, it can actually become quite sensitive (annoying) when it's hot out.

Re: To Keep or Discard? What to do with an empty scrotum
I was castrated 2 1/2 yrs. ago. I asked the urologist about scrotum removal. He told me he could reduce it as part of the surgery but total removal was considered cosmetic and Medicare wouldn't cover it so I told him to take as much as he could. I'd say he took about 1/2. It still "gets in the way" sometimes, especially when I'm going to bed. I just pull it out from between my legs and that's good enough. I assume it would probably be more troublesome without the reduction.
I'll add that I don't even think about it much anymore. I never did any TRT and my libido is just a memory. I like it better this way and am a happier man without it. But I'm in my 70s. If I were a younger man I might not be so content.

My urologist removed all of mine and even tightened up the area bu removing excess skin. Medicare and my secondary Tricare covered it all. I was 70 when I had it done.

Re: To Keep or Discard? What to do with an empty scrotum
Can't think of any reason to keep an empty one at all. Had mine removed a few years back now and only regret it wasn't done at the time of castration. Particularly if you've had a few birthdays, it is a fine opportunity to get a bit tightened up down there!
Had min done by a genital plastic surgeon who did it for $800 including a well-administered general anesthetic. It took a few weeks for it all to settle, but highly recommended!

My scrotum is going to be removed next Monday. I'll post a note re how it goes. Looking forward to being completely smooth under the penis, my hope is there will be no trace of the sac left and after the scar has faded will look like there was never anything there. Justine x

Re: To Keep or Discard? What to do with an empty scrotum
Thanks sparkey49 and Chrissym, it was done on April 23. There were no complications and everything has healed very fast. Initially it was quite sore and there was a lot of bruising but now it's all OK. The stitches are out and I like the extra space down there. There is a vertical scar from the base of the penis to the perineum but in time this will fade away and it will look like I never had any balls. I'm really glad to be rid of it and it means there's no pretending about my sexual status. I'm not ashamed to be a eunuch
and will go for it as a feminine androgyne. Justine xx
