However I should mention that we do encourage anyone wanting castration to do it through appropriate and safe medical channels, primarily the WPATH SOCv8, https://wpath.org/publications/soc8/ which has a chapter specifically on eunuchs.

We have found that those who have sought castration as part of a BDSM scene have not been happy with the end result as it's a 'one-time' thrill with significant consequences... A 'test' I suggest considering is whether you have more thoughts about the act of GETTING castrated than you do about living as a eunuch afterwards... Also it is a bit of a caution note if you have any 'kink' elements to how you'd like it done. (Who does it, non-medical situation, methods, etc)

I can say from personal experience that it is not a lot different from any other outpatient medical procedure - it can be done under local, but most seem to have had a short acting general anesthetic. You get the same basic prep, they roll you into the operating room, you go to sleep, then wake up and go home missing a few things.... If that doesn't sound very appealing, it may be better to stick with a fantasy desire....
