Male Pattern Baldness

Post by newlife (imported) »

Hello boys and girs,

Since I was 18 years old I started to rapidly loose my hair. I started taking rogaine and propeciaearly this year but it only grew a lil hair back. But since my castration in August 06, I have been taking Rogaine Foam and I have a head full of thick hair:D . Before treatment I was like a Norwood 4 with horrible diffuse thinning in the middle in front scalp. I guess this is because of no further DHT in my body or scalp:dong: . Has anyone noticed their hairloss stop and has anyone noticed thier hairloss continue to progress even after thier castration? Thanks in advance

Too damned late by "several" years. I have a turtle wax franchise. Bought it when I was 22...

Some board members will be elated to know that lost head hair may be regrown following castration, at least in some cases. Success likely depends on the status of the hair follicles at time DHT disappears from the system.

Good on y'a.

I also have hair lose on my 17-18y, I still have a lot of hair, but i also have the "diffuse" hair loss pattern. I'm using chemical castration for 6 months now, and i still have my normal hair loss (i lose about 150-200 hairs a day) It seems stable now my hair condition, but of course i hope i get some improvement. They say it takes about a year to see improvement.

I have small colorless hairs growing on my temples, so that is positive

I understand that there is always a certain amount of hair loss for all people every day, but that normally most or all of it is regenerated. Perhaps this is where your daily loss will "fall" - to the bath drain.

I knew there was a good reason why I shave my head.

I'm not sure exactly if my full growth of head hair is related to being a Chemical Eunuch, or not. I sometimes laugh with my hairdresser who I've used since 1977.

Over time he has lost almost all his hair whilst my hair (although now greyer)

is still as thick and luxuriant as then; infact my head hair grows too quickly.

I shaved most of my body hair off a long time ago and it hasn't regrown though like Fixet I do have a slight amount of thin, fair leg hair which I would shave off by choice but it is so insignificant that it doesn't bother me. Armpit hair re-grows extremely slowly and even then it is very thin.

My hairline has receded just a tiny amount in 30 odd years, sufficient to show off a nice crease free brow. Does it sound like I'm quite happy about this?

{I am}:)

At 50 I still have a full head of hair that needs cut every three weeks. I am also happy to report that most of my body hair is gone. If I could just stop the ear hair growth I would be happy.

If the barber doesn't trim the ear hair when I go in to get my monk's fringe trimmed, I usually end up braiding it and wrapping it behind my ears. Keeps it out of the way and doesn't intefere with my hearing.

I pull my ear hair out with tweezers. It doesn't grow back nearly so fast, and it has cut down on that which does grow back. Works well for me. Otherwise, like Kristoff, I would be braiding mine.

I didn't have very much body hair, only some hair on my legs, and very little on my arms. It almost stopped growing, or it is colorless now. So i don't have to shave my legs/arms anymore. My hair grow in my armpits also slowed down. I shave it about 1 time in 2 weeks. But i have to shave my public hair every week.

So that is great, and it happened in 3-4 months now i have to wait if my hair gets thicker again, and stops losing so many hairs every day!

I have used finasteride and dutasteride before chemical castration, and it didn't do much to me. Chemical seems to do much better its work, last time i cut my hair the hairdresser saw some improvement. I hope im the lucky one who can get his hair restored, as I'm still young and my hair doesn't look like i'm going bald.
