How long did it take you to become a eunuch?
Was reading a study that indicated surgical castrations average about 18 years from the time that an individual developed interest in being a eunuch to the time of their actual castration.
This timespan is actually about how long it took me to go from idea to surgery. It's not a fast process and there are a lot of moving parts that have to come together.

Interesting, where did you find that 18 year statistic? I'm curious because that lines up pretty closely with my own experience as well. It took me about 20 years from the time I first started wanting to be a eunuch to when I had my surgery to accomplish my goal.

If that's the case, I'll be 40 when I become a eunuch. But I think I'll make it after 50+.

Re: How long did it take you to become a eunuch?
The mentioned study was led by an author who is well known to the EA community and is highly reputable...
EAv2 members supplied the data for several studies on this topic, all are worth looking at - perhaps we can get a list, and access to full texts instead of the restricted versions available online...
One result in a different study that Paolo said came as a big surprise was that the age given in response to the question about if one had a time machine to go back and get fixed at that age, when would you choose.... He said that the overwhelming response was in the 11-13 year old range... (note that nearly all were well over 40, and most over 60 by the time they actually were...)
As I note in my sig, it was only 5-6 years from when I learned that voluntary castration was a real option to when I got my surgery... However some form of castration / genital modification was a significant part of my fantasy world for as long as I can remember - both ends of the knife, voluntary or not, etc, lots of different scenarios, but the key ingredient was there in some form... How to count that is a question I have no idea how to answer...

Based on what I know now, if I had a time machine I'd go back and have it done at 11-13 years old also. I probably wouldn't have appreciated it at the time, however.WheelyFixed wrote: Fri Feb 14, 2025 11:34 am One result in a different study that Paolo said came as a big surprise was that the age given in response to the question about if one had a time machine to go back and get fixed at that age, when would you choose.... Re: How long did it take you to become a eunuch?
I encountered this fantasy as a fetish of a dominant woman. I was scared and shocked that she expected it as a serious desire ... that one day ... although she doesn't know how and by whom, in what way, but it will happen in our serious D / s relationship.
In the time following the first imprinting relationship, I continuously only lived as a sub in D/s relationships in which my partner was a woman with or open to castration fetish. (It was surprisingly easy to advertise and search for myself with such a specific search term.) (2004-2017) And... okt.01. 2022. my castration. It's surprising that after 2017, the determination matured in me as my own expectation and I had the opportunity to fulfill it. And this is 2004-2022... exactly 18 years...

I think about 10 years. Looking back started as a femdom fetish that evolved into a particular interest in ballbusting, which became increasingly rough and then castration

Re: How long did it take you to become a eunuch?
I knew when I was a child something wasn't right, "down there." It took me years to formulate what it was. At first, in high school, I went looking through the library during my library study hours at things related to my feelings. The only stuff we had at the time were mentions of AMAB men who didn't like their testicles would have gender surgery to become women.
That didn't seem to fit.
Then when I got to college, the Internet was starting up, and I found a Usenet group called, alt.eunuchs.questions. This was before the Internet had wonderful GUI and graphics, it was ALL text. I knew what a eunuch was, and thought it was all an ancient relic thing to do, but when I got to the AEQ group, I found a few men who had actually had it done. The light switch went on, and it was obvious where I fit in - I could have my genitals removed and still remain male. BINGO!
I graduated, then ended up in the army for a while. I struggled with this. Do I really want it? What does it mean? All that stuff we all go through.
Not only was I struggling with my gender issues, I also fully became aware I was a gay male whilst in the military, and the last year I was there I finally concluded I wanted to have my genitals removed.
This was very difficult, because this was the, "Don't ask, don't tell" era. If I said anything to anyone, I'd be shuttled out and homeless. And if that's how they treated homosexuality, what would they do if on top of that they found out I had a desire to cut my cock and balls off?
While in the military, I had a room mostly to myself, so I could spend evenings cruising the early Internet and discover more about all this. The original EA started up the last year I was in the army.
When I got out I was 27, I got castrated just after I turned 35. So from making the decision this would eventually happen to getting the castration done was about 8-9 years. To have the nullification completed was 18-19 years, as I had that done about 10 years later.
It's been about 30 years since I figured it all out, at this point.

Thanks for sharing your journey. So good to hear about others' struggles with coming to terms of our desire to become nullified.Nulloguy wrote: Fri May 02, 2025 7:05 am I knew when I was a child something wasn't right, "down there." Re: How long did it take you to become a eunuch?
For me the 18 year thing lines up sort of. I found out about castration around 13 years old and wanted to be an eunuch since then. Was finally able to get castrated when I was 28. So 15 years between discovery and then surgery.
Just your friendly neighbourhood guy.

Re: How long did it take you to become a eunuch?
In my case, I always knew something wasn't quite right, but without the language to describe my feelings I didn't wind up connecting the dots until I was 17
My dysphoria got markedly worse during puberty and only worsened as time passed, until I wind up so depressed that I considered suicide (my second time considering it, as I had a prior instance), which made me think about ways to stop the things that bothered me most, that being sex drive, which led me to eunuchs and castration, and eventually Nullification
After my mother had passed, I had made the preparations to get the surgery done, and finally, wound up getting it done on September 21st, at the age of 20

I guess i am overdue for the surgery. It took me 12 years to get to alcohol injections and that was 12 years ago.
SOCv8 may be what helps me to complete the goal.

Re: How long did it take you to become a eunuch?
Very likely it will, as the SOCv8 is definitely accepted in the US.... Remember to that there is nothing magic about the 18 year number, it's just an average and some of us got done sooner, some took a lot longer...susan2be wrote: Sun Aug 17, 2025 10:09 pm I guess i am overdue for the surgery. Hi, about 6 years in my case. I was ready by by age 20 but was interrupted by Covid and then by not being able to find an experienced and sympathetic doctor. I was finally done May this year at age 26.

Took me 20 years, so pretty close to the average, lol.
