How did you felt when you understood what was castration ?
I can't remember that, but it probably didn't took long for me to feel aroused by it. When I was 10-12, I used to look myself naked at the mirror, imagining how it would be much more beautiful without those parts between my legs, like Silver Surfer. I hided them in my hand and behind legs. But I wasn't really aroused by that until I was 13 or 14.

I was about 11 when I was first exposed to harmful/abusive (really bad stuff) sexual content online. I was trafficked for most of my childhood online. I was about 14 when I first understood the word eunuch in the Bible. I’ve pretty consistently wanted to be a eunuch my entire life but haven’t been able to afford it. When nonbinary became a legal gender I immediately signed up for transition surgery. I didn’t know about nonbinary until my late 20s.

I'd wager about 18, I had a vague interest in history and discovered eunuchs and castration from their position in the Eastern Mediterranean. That coupled with my dysphoria gave me an interest in castration.

Despite all that's been happening in the US I do have to say you're all very much ahead when it comes to gender. I'm sorry to hear about your childhood, if I may ask what did you mean by "I was trafficked for most of my childhood online." ?

I’ve been around veterinary surgery since I was 7. My dad’s a vet, so I basically grew up in the clinic. I remember standing in the operating room, way too small for the scrubs, watching him perform surgeries. It was fascinating—seeing the precision, the focus, the calm in the chaos. Sometimes, I got to help in tiny ways—passing tools, holding a light. Nothing major, but it felt huge at the time. Those early experiences in the OR sparked my interest for castration/neutering, since most of the time, I was helping there.

As a kid growing up in a livestock farm, with a revolving door of new working dogs - pretty damn young.

I recount some of this in one of my posts on castration. Best not read if squeamish…

Not sure just when, I knew fairly early about pets getting 'fixed' but wasn't sure what that actually meant... In Junior High I found a copy of Heinlein's "Farnham's Freehold" in the school library. Many characters in the book are 'tempered' and our main hero and his son get set up for 'tempering' early on but are spared (the son is done later in the book) EXACTLY what 'tempering' entailed wasn't quite spelled out, but it was pretty strongly implied by the descriptions... (BTW it was explicitly mentioned as being done at different ages, from infant to adulthood depending on their master's desires, and we met at least one character done at age 8...)

I won't go into the book further, beyond saying it is worth the read....

I actually found the book very 'disturbing' because I felt it wasn't 'normal' that I was excited by the concept, and actually got rid of my copy, it's the only Heinlein I don't own at this time... Later I encountered plenty of other literary descriptions, and exposure to animal castrations but was never enough of a history buff to realize how common it was historically beyond harem guards and opera singers....

It wasn't until a few years ago that I encountered a discussion of voluntary eunuchs online, and found it clicked enough for me to investigate further, which fairly rapidly got me to EAv2, and as they say "The rest is history" :ugeek:

I don't know about this book. It doesn't seem to be published in my country.
Were you excited because of fear by reading such a scary story ? Or were you a little bit aroused by the thought of you could be castrated ?

Quick reference - w/ history and rough description... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Farnham%27s_Freehold IMHO the description of the reception is rather selectively unkind, though there are definitely elements of truth to it... The novel's 'backstory' as given makes some sense, in that especially at the time of it's writing, it was not unreasonable to assume that the US, USSR, Europe and so on would get wiped out in a nuclear war, but that Africa and South America would be relatively unscathed as they had little of 'target value'. This (per the book) allowed Africa to get a head start on rebuilding and take over afterwards, and "power corrupts"

I'm really not sure why I found the book so disturbing, probably a mix of both fear and being bothered that I found the idea exiting at the same time.
