Reminds me of the stupidity of the grade school yard. We had this very nice girl who was suddenly picked (for no reason) to be the plague. Don't touch her you will get _______itis! Well even then as dumb as I was I knew how stupid this was so I asked to be "infected" thinking that might make the teasing go away. Nope... Stupidity rules I suppose. One nice thing is that she grew up to be a very lovely woman who remembered this tiny act of kindness.

Fortunately (for her) I was attached. ;-) Otherwise I might have tried to get REALLY infected...

Anyway, this mental picture of grown adults running around locking the doors and hiding in the house would be funny if it wasn't so tragic....

Is there anyway to tell them this is not something you did as a personal attack on them? *Or what do they think this is about?

ITS MEDICAL!!!!!!

Hi Erica Ann,

You showed a lot of class in the way you handled this difficult, not to mention painful, situation with your mother and brother. I totally agree with Tugon here, you are the sane one. Not only that, the way they behaved is incredibly immature.

I'm delighted to see several people offered very kind words of support and affirmation. I shouldn't be at all surprised by this, and I'm not. You are wonderful, just as eunuch2001 noted.

Hugs,

Hi Erica, Sorry they reacted that way. I can only imagine how u felt. I thought that was wonderful you still think of your mom and gave her a card for her special day. :) At least no one can say you deserted her the way she did you. I wish you the best as always.

love and hugs, Lilac

Hi Erica

Never give up. Continue to be your sweet self. I would give a card at many occasions. Maybe send some literature that explains what we are about.

There is always hope they will come around eventually. It does happen.

And if they don't you are still better off being the person you are supposed to be.

I've followed your story for a long time and you have been an inspiration! Stay HAPPY no matter what!

HUGS

Thank you for the encouragement Mac, but after 3 years I'm beginning to run out of any hope that they will ever come around.

I had a good weekend until Sunday afternoon. I got my hair restyled into a concave bob which looks absolutely great. Went shopping on Saturday afternoon and bought a very sexy "little black dress" and 3 very cute sun dresses.

Celebrated our 33rd wedding anniversary on Friday night with a nice dinner and a movie with my spouse who gave me a beautiful pair of gold hoop earrings embedded with small diamonds.

My spouse attended a monthly gathering of her family on Sunday afternoon where she confronted her Mother about the fact that her spouse, me, does not get invited to these gatherings. Her Mother's response was "we have to protect the children."

Protect them from what? The bid bad transsexual? You have to wonder if her family thinks that GID is some kind of an infectious disease. The best part is that we hosted one of these gatherings in March and a number of her family, including her Mother, came to my house to partake in our hospitality. There were even a number of children there and they didn't have a problem with Aunt Erica.

It just leaves one wondering as to what, if anything, is going on in their heads! :-\

Hi Erica Ann,

I feel really bad for you. You are such a wonderful woman who deserves to be treated just like any other member of the family. I know this is very painful for you.

Having met both you and your spouse, I find it incomprehensible that any relative of either of you could be so ignorant about people and about what love really means. You both are wonderful examples of unconditonal love and understanding.

I wish I had the words that would make all of this better, my sister. We already spoke about this, but please remember you can call me at any time.

Hugs,

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday was another difficult day for me as far as family matters goes.

Last weekend my spouse attended one of her family's monthly gatherings. She has lately been getting a lot of comments from her mother regarding the fact that when she goes to these events, she doesn't stay for any length of time, so she decided to address this situation with her mother. She explained that the reason is is that her partner, me, is not invited.

Earlier this week her older sister called and invited her to a meeting with some of her family members to discuss this situation. The meeting took place yesterday morning. Several members of her family were in attendance, including her mother. They told her that since a number of family members have problems with me, because of the transgendered issue, they just cannot accept me; therefore I'm not welcome to attend any family functions. Period! One of my brother-in-laws even went some far as to express his opinion that the whole GLBT community goes out of their way to shove "their agenda down normal people's throats." There were two of her brothers there that have met me in the past and they did try to defend me, but they were quickly overruled by the majority.

Needless to say I was shocked by his reaction, extremely hurt by their attitudes and feeling very, very rejected by all of them. 😠 I can't even begin to describe my feelings after hearing this news. I was extremely depressed the balance of the day, so much so that I couldn't even make this post until today. I just couldn't bring myself to even write about the whole matter, it was so painful. 😢 I have finally come to the conclusion that I will never have any extended family in my life again.

And these people consider themselves good God fearing Christians. God help them.

Erica, I have always advocated for special people to create their own special families. They are much superior in many ways to that which we often have to leave behind (whether by choice or not). It doesn't always assuage the hurt, but goes a long way toward making for a happier existence!

At moments like this, you should be able to work as a computer. You just need a ghost image of yourself being happy with the choices you made

If life runs into shit like this, just restore the ghost and forget about them.

I know, you are not a computer, you are human

(and I just told a secret about my behavior)

Oh and don't forget, two of them tried it at least, not everybody is that strong, they may need your help.

Dear Erica Ann,

I have first hand experience with some of the rejection you are experiencing and it is extremely painful and depressing. To have your in-laws essentially vote on whether you will be allowed among them is appalling. I am angry that you have been treated this way. Statements such as GLBT agendas being pushed down normal people's throats show... well, I cannot even write it here. I'll leave it at I am appalled.

I know beyond a doubt that you are a beautiful, caring woman who does not deserve any of this. I also know, dear one, that is they who are losing the most by excluding you.

I agree with Kristoff, who always has very good insights. While it can be very painful to be abandoned by your family, you (and I) can create families of our own choosing and find happiness.

Nomorehotbutt also provided a clue to something I have used. I hadn't thought of restoring the ghost image, although I know you understand this. I have, though, when necessary essentially erased myself from the moment and returned in my mind to a happier place.

With affection,

Danya

So your forcing your Transexual agenda on them... How? Are you trying to make them have sex reassignment surgery? How often? Or are you "flaunting" you new sexual identity by ahh.... NOT sure how that that would work. Wearing plastic cloths so they can see the new naughty parts?!?

Wow... I think they are assigning you some great powers. Maybe you could become like one of those costume evil doers like Magneto or Dr Doom. You could be TRANSEXUAL GIRL! Evil doer! Hell bent on world domination and making all men into women and all women in men or at least into men who are into transexual women!!

Lets work on the evil laugh "Mooo hooo hoo hah hah!"

Its almost funny if it wasn't so tragic.

Hi Mr. T,

My brother-in-laws comment was aimed to the GLBT community in general and was not a specific reference to me since I have never met him in person as the real me. The last time I saw him I was still presenting as the "old me" and not the woman I really am.

This speaks to those that judge what they don't (or won't) understand as "fake" as in MrT has "FAKE Balls" or his friend Erica Ann is a "FAKE Woman"

I think these kinds of people ought to understand this better because frankly I think they have FAKE BRAINS!

Arg!

Still like the idea of a costumed Transexual Girl with super powers...

Of course I DID read a lot of comics as a kid...

Hi Everyone,

I had a wonderful time at the Be-All conference last weekend. Had the opportunity to see many old friends as well as making a number of new ones. I think I consumed enough alcohol to last me about four months, but it was worth it. 😄

This week at work has also been enjoyable. I've been very busy trying to complete a big construction project that will be wrapping up in the next week or so compounded by a major subcontractor that went out of business last Friday while I was on vacation, but the one saving grace is
EricaAnn (imported) wrote: Sat Feb 28, 2009 5:39 am that the president of the company
has been out of town on vacation and will not return until June 22nd. It's been kind of a working vacation. :)

Dilation continues as usual and continues to get easier with every passing week, so everything else is going real well and am happier than I have ever been in my entire life.

It never ceases to amaze me how some people believe that they are so perfect in every way that they must condem and criticise the thoughts, beliefs, actions, or inactions of others.

But wait. Isn't condemning and critising other people an imperfect flat that makes someone imperfect?

Yes, it is. So they are not after all perfect. They are just pathetic condescending hypocrits who deserve no one but themselves.

Hi Tugon,

Thank you for the lovely compliment. I really appreciate it! My new avatar is a photo that was taken by a professional photographer at the Be-All conference in early June of this year.

I'm so looking forward to seeing you again this coming August at the MOM.

Hi Erica,

Your new avatar is terrific! :) It reminds me of exactly how you looked when I visited you in February. Only the dress is different. The beautiful, happy woman is the same.
