When expenses exceed income something has to give eventually. You need to make changes somehow. Find the way and do it.

Was that what the deed to the house was used for, to misrepresent someone to the water company? Are you unwelcome squatters trying to drive you out of the house by depriving you of water? What are they doing for water? Toilets?

In the meantime, if it is still raining, put some buckets out and catch rainwater for the animals.

gareth - My water bill has skyrocketed lately yet we're cutting down on usage. I just received a water, trash, sewage bill in the mail for $241.38.

I am sorry MacWolf... I did not mean to insult you or anything.. But each time a service is disconnected and re-connected, you pay a fee for that happening, don't you? And that adds insult to injury in your financial losses...Somehow you have to get yourself ahead to fend off those disconnect and reconnect fees..

Relax OBB, you never insult me :)

I welcome all comments, pro or con :)

Though I'd prefer more (if any) from female blondes with big gazoos who want to molest and support me - heh heh

Well, I'd prefer blonde, redhead, brunette, raven, gray or bald women first :)

I tossed Monty off my back porch yesterday. This morning I found all of his belongings inside my back porch. I tossed them outside including his TV.

Unfortunately, since my outside door won't lock, I can't keep him out. I'll hafta wait till I can afford a decent lock to be rid of him :(

Are you telling me that someone in the house will just unlock the door? Do not think a lock will do any good.:(

Liz hates Monty with a passion. Beside if I could afford a key dead bolt only, nobody would be opening anything.

SOMETHING IS ROTTEN IN DENMARK AND WITH EDISON

I received a bill from Edison today for $1,000. YIKES.

Unless someone there is merciful, I may be offline and without electricity for a few months.

H.E.L.P. I need advice.

Are you sure that you don't run collider, time machine, welding equipment or something? :-\

How could you get 5000kWh? (If I looked the price quotes for Edison California correctly).

$1000 does seem a little high for just one old guy who isn't growing pot. --FLO--

Challenge the bill and demand an audit to find out who is hooking on to your power

The bill is probably from the work Edison did after the fire... Just a guess.

They may have a program to do payments over time, and sometimes the bill can be forgive altogether. If the bill is for electric use only, then I am with the Red Nun. Someone is tapping you shizz.

I received a warning from Edison that says they want $529.78 by Wednesday. I'll call them tomorrow and try to get more time. like three days.

I get payed on the 3rd and can give them that money by Saturday.

I'll see how much of a diplomat I am.

I just finished talking with Edison: they won't wait for Saturday so it looks like I'm going to be offline from 3-31 to 4-03.

By the way, Edison says I'm using 833 kWh per month. Is that reasonable?

I used 595 kwh in February (including humidifier, condensate pump and furnace blower motors) for a 1700 sqft two story house built in 1881. --FLO--

What all are you running and how big is your house? Did you get a new meter on your house? There are tons of people complaining about very high electrc bills after getting new "smart" meters. My bill on a newer 2,300 sf house with two HVAC units never breaks $200 a month and I think I pay 9.5 cents per kilowatt. My furnace is natural gas so my electricity is cheapest in the winter but my gas bill goes up but still not much of a bill.

you may want to check your hot water heater. You can get a lot of sediments on the heating elements or in the bottom of your tank making it run a lot harder and electric hot water heaters pull a LOT of juice. It can draw 30 amps at 240v which would be 7,200 watts.

I have 1,200 square feet. It's an old house built around 1930.
