We live in an apartment which is 1,050 square feet. Only the furnace and water heater are gas. We used only 298 KWH from 2/15 to 3/15 between tv's, computers, stereo and the appliances.

My house is about 1200 square feet and I use one of those countertop convection ovens to cook and have a water pump (like a well) for water. Natural gas heat and water heater). The biggest electric thing is the air conditioner (whole house, all electric).

Randomly sampled my bills over two years say: 1003, 742, 1022, 767, 1080, 1218, 690, 437, 698, 1301, 759, 660, 692, 862, 759... in no particular order and in KWH.

Like I said, the high months are summer air conditioning.

I have 1,200 square feet. It's an old house built around 1930.

Where I live, the house and some outbuildings were built around 1950; the barn where I live is connected to the main power lines and isn't separated; we have one large refrigerator, two smaller refrigerators, a water cooler, a separate freezer for food storage, electric stove and dishwasher, and some electric heaters in one of the outbuildings; the main house is heated by gas, we have two ponds, a hot tub, and a swimming pool, each with its own electric pump to circulate the water. That's four pumps running water (one of which pumps the water about twenty feet up to a waterfall. There is a lot of electric equipment that is used for various tasks and chores on a daily basis. The main house and living quarters in the outbuildings total about 3000 sqft. Last month's energy consumption was 1210 kWh at about $285. Unless you keep the house at 95 degrees 24/7 and use electric heaters in all rooms, have an electric stove, oven, a washer and drier going day in and day out, your electric consumption seems abnormal. Are there idiots in the house running electric space heaters 24/7?

Something just isn't right. If this is just an unusual spike in your typical energy use, then it was probably the work crews that used your power. If this is part of your current energy profile, contact services for the elderly and ask them to help you find out from Edison where that energy is going.

Edison showed up to switch me off. The meter is blocked by a locked gate. My neighbors told him I was downtown paying bills.

It buys me one more day but I expect that ruse won't work tomorrow.

Still here but not for long. I'll pay $530 to my electric company tomorrow but TimeWarner sent me a $500 bill too. I supposedly owe back payments. Sorta looks like I'll be offline till May. Oh well, that the life of a Wolf

I went to the local grocery and took out $300. Tomorrow I return to the grocery to get $240. Then I head to the bill paying place and give Edison $530.00.

On a bright note, I called TimeWarner. They are only demanding $160.00. I can pay that but it will leave me with a mere $40 left for food for the month.

How does one stretch out $40.00 - lol

Classic answer: Bean, Rice, Pasta all dry and in bulk ... onions and occasional cured meat scraps for flavor and find and use the local food bank.

Well, I had a lousy Easter. I was expecting exploding eggs from Darth Bunny but he missed my house

Rats - It's 6:57 in the morning and no sleep all night. Maybe I'll sleep after I give Edison their $530 today.

That's it, my electric company is depriving me of my sleep on purpose. I knew they were sadistic.

Last night I had a minor/major fall. Major for a person of my age but minor because nothing was broken except my pride

I was getting up from my wheelchair to go to the kitchen for another drink. Somewhere between rising and placing my foot on the floor, the Gremlins got me. I fell down and to the left soundly hitting the top of my head and left shoulder on my big wooden bookcase. Then I fell from there to my carpeted floor.

My shoulder stopped hurting within 15 minutes, my head about 45 minutes after that. This morning to now, my shoulder is SORE. Friends looked at head and saw a gash in the top. It's sore but no pain.

I have had a headache since then off and on but not to worry. I have headaches or migraines monthly and anyone hitting their head like moi might have a headache.

Other than that, life is okay

Postscript: I sit in a wheelchair since it's the only chair I have left except for the sofa like ones.

For Heaven's sake and your own, please go see a doctor to get checked out. You can't be to carefull, especially as you grow older.

Code Enforcement was here yesterday about the ash and debris. The officer said she would try to get the Mormon Church to help haul away some of the trash.

The city just now turned OFF my water so no water for the dog, dishes, clothes, flushing toilets, etc. When Code Enforcement was here yesterday, she said if my water was cut off, I could be forced to leave my house.

What do I do now?

I'm not sure I can type as I just had a big brawl with Monty. He refuses to clean up the back porch or his mess in the yard.

When Code Enforcement was here yesterday,

the were mad at me. In their words, "you have people living in your house but they aren't helping clean up the mess."

I should have said to Code Enforcement then, "we can bag stuff up but without a truck or a big city trash bin, there's no where to put it."

I'm in desperate need of a truck to haul junk to the dump. I can pay dumping fees.

The city turned off my water five days ago so no washing dishes, clothes, hands, showering, etc. I've been borrowing water from the neighbors to flush my commode and I bought ice for my DietCokes and a bottle of water for the cats and the dog. Just a few more days.

By hook or crook, I have somehow managed to do without running water for several days now.

A friend is sending me money for the water bill soon

I've borrowed enough water from my neighbors to wash dishes, my hands and flush the commode so far

Strangely, I've also avoided being thrown out of my house too. Code Enforcement informed me I can be evicted from my own house if I don't have water.

Hopefully, by Wednesday or Friday I'll have water and sewage disposal.

Postscript: I just received a letter from Edison. They are demanding $213.83 by the 26th of April. I'm going to call them and (1) ask them how I can be expected to pay them more money in one month as I had already given them $530 this month. (2) to ask for an extension till May 1st when my check comes in.
