Strangely, this stone is acting differently than in the past. This one hurts during the day but, so far, it has let me sleep in relative peace. All my past stones produced the agonizing pain in the middle of the night.

I wonder if my age is a factor?

I wonder if it is something other than what you think it is. --FLO--

Well, if the pain gets more intense, I'll take a walk up to the hospital and get a real medical opinion :)

Today, the pain changed and I'm thinking you might be right UncleFlo. The other condition that feels similar to a stone is Pancreatitus. I've had that twice before.

I'm going to take a slow one mile walk up to ST. Bernadine's Hospital and get checked out, if they're not too crowded.

I just finished walking home from the hospital. I was poked and prodded. They took urine tests, blood tests and a Cat Scan.

Results: I have a stone in each kidney but my pancreas is fine :)

Great to here that it is not pancreas. That would be far worse. Not that the stone's are good.

Hope the stones pass fast just like I hope your unwanted house leaches also pass to other places.

I stopped by Mac's place today to help with the door, and found that the frame is shot and needs to be replaced.

It was burned by the fire so a new door and frame is in order. Oh well I tried.

Geologically speaking, a lot of ancient stone becomes brittle and

crumbly. Maybe Mac's stones will just fall apart.

I'll wager if I had private insurance, I might have been offered the use of the lithotripter, which uses a laser in water to break the stones into sand size particles.

Since I don't have that insurance, my hospital visit was free but, the only thing I was given was a prescription for Vicodin and told to walk a lot and drink lots of cold liquid. That I already knew about but the Vicodin might be nice :)

When I awoke this morning and went outside, I saw that Monty had rebuilt the door frame and installed a door. There's no way to lock it yet but it's nice to have a back door again :)

I told Monty I was out of cat and dog food and he said he'd try to get something.

Monty has some good points besides carpentry: This morning I noticed that the Kitchen cupboard was bare. Monty gave me enough money for a burrito. :)

GOOD NEWS FINALLY :)

I called the Federal Government today to check on mom life insurance under which I'm the sole beneficiary. The kind man at the other end said I should be receiving a check within 7-10 days :)

He said he couldn't give me the amount over the phone.

So, very soon, I should be out of the poor house, at least for a while. heh heh

Just for you,

In 1850 California became a state, in that time how many Governors have been Democrats?

Can you name them?
