Ballard air conditioning just left. The workman cleaned out the cooler, added new hoses, installed three new pads and a new pump. I'm actually getting cool air out of my swamp cooler. The bill was $176.00 but now I can survive the summer :)

Mr. Wolf, you should come visit here in winter. It regularly gets to -20F and I seem to remember -34F a few years ago. --FLO--

When I moved from Wisconsin just on the other side of the river from the twin cities it was -20 with a -40 wind chill, that was Jan 20th 2014.

Jan 20th here in Hawai'i was in the 70s or low 80s.

Flo, as much as I miss all you guys, I don't miss the weather.

I have had a sore right ear for weeks now. The ear doctor says it's like a bed sore because I lie on my right side too often. He said, "go buy either an ear pillow or a donut pillow." I just returned from Walmart with a butt pillow. It was the closest they had to a pillow with a hole in it. If it doesn't work out, the pharmacist suggested a surgical supply store.

On the plus side, the doc said there was no tumor hence no cancer :)

The butt pillow was to hard to sleep on so I'm taking it back tomorrow.

Try a horse-shoe shaped pillow designed for back of neck while riding in a car. should be about the right size, shape and height. OTOH, learn how to sleep another way; not easy, but eminently possible.

I received my FREE new phone in the mail from Assurance Wireless today. THey neglected to send me the intro letter that had my pin number. I called the company and asked for technical support. It was just my luck to get a woman who spoke English as her second language. I couldn't understand her directions so I hung up.

I still have no cell phone

I need to start reading my email daily instead of once a week. It appears that our Jesus was going to be in town and was offering to take me to lunch. I didn't see his message until several days afterwards.

This falls under the category of TNSTAAFL = There's no such thing as a free lunch :)

I called Verizon and was told I could get phone and Internet for $88 per month. I think I'm going to try it. I currently pay Time Warner $120 a month for phone & internet.

I'm thinking of joining AARP, you know that organization for us OLD people. They said if I joined it would only cost me $16 a year. THey also suggested I call Consumer Cellular. I called them and they said I could get a cell phone for $10 per month. If I switch to Verizon all I'll need is internet :)

Any idea guys?

Verizon came today and turned off my phone/internet. Now the tech needs to wait for a Verizon repair crew to do something to the line on the pole. Te tech said he's be back later today. He was nice enough to hook me back up with Time Warner so I can go online until he returns.

I had a new water pump put in yesterday for $130 and this morning when I woke up the air coming out of my swamp cooler was HOT. I recalled the plumber and told him his pump broke already. He arrived and said, "no sir,. someone turned off your water." He let the tank fill back up and now I feel cool air again. There was no charge for the plumber's return call :)

On the plus side Boss helped me hook up with IRCle so I can use the chatroom. On the negative side I have developed my first coid in years. Mostly sore throat and coughing. Symptoms appeared right after markle told me of the outbreak of Legionaires Disease in Illinois.

Though I feel like hell, I dragged my 68 year old body to the pharmacy to get some Nyquil for my cold and some saline nasal spray for my left nostril. Hopefully, in a few days I won't still feel like the undead. :)
