Does anyone noticed voice changes due to castration?

(Sorry if I'm asking in the wrong subforum, but the castration sub is divided in world regions, which isn't related to what I want to ask).

I sing and I have a beautiful bass voice that I'm very proud of. One of my fears of castration is that the low testosterone may change my muscles and vocal chords, making it higher. It would be a shame if that happened. As far as I know, it doesn't, on the contrary, after puberty, the voice usually gets hoarser and lower due to lost of collagen. Still, I wish to know from you guys if anyone noticed any changes after castration.

I would think that changes to your larynx during puberty is permanent. Removal of testicles should not alter your voice much.

I'm a singer also. My voice didn't change at all. I think castration will only lock in a pre-puberty voice, like with the famous Italian castratos. If you have the surgery done as an adult, you're stuck with your deep voice and beard.

As others have said, castration as an adult does NOT change your voice, despite all the jokes to the contrary...

The castrati high pitch is ONLY possible with castration done BEFORE puberty, and with a lot of vocal training before and after. This causes the voicebox and vocal cords not to change tone with pubertal growth, so you keep the child's higher pitch, but with the depth and resonance of a full grown male chest...

The lack of voice change is actually considered a problem for those doing a full binary M-F transition, as it is a bit of a give-away that one didn't start out with the current equipment, and it takes what is described as fairly difficult and tricky surgery to modify the vocal cords to get a more 'feminine tone'....

That said, I have not noticed any changes in my voice (I still sing in the key of OFF...) but I do feel like I get 'tongue-tangled' more often where I mangle what I was trying to say... Not a big issue and I don't know that it's connected to being fixed as opposed to an aging thing, but FWIW....

As a singer, it will be age, not castration that will change your voice. This is why a lot of singers hang it up fairly early on. Bing Crosby and a few of the other crooners lasted a very long time, but their music wasn't very demanding. Look at Julie Andrews. She sang well into her 60's before she was "limited" to only three octaves.

I have noticed I use the upper registers of my voice, when I am stressed out. It is what I use as an indicator.

The voice changes during puberty were honestly one of the things that sucked the most for me tbh

I used to enjoy humming quite alot before puberty...

After puberty I gradually started humming less and less, and for a decent while, I would stop humming all together

It wasn't until fairly recently that I started humming again, and honestly, I can reach higher pitches than I thought! (Voice cracks annoy the ever living hell out of me though!)

It's still something I wish never changed... (so many things would've been much easier if I was simply born a eunuch)

My mom was an opera singer, and when I was a kid I could sing at a higher pitch than she could. I would have been a natural as a castrato if they were still doing that practice. Now people tell me I sound like Jim Morrison/The Doors.

No voice change, but don't lose sight of other changes that need a medical watch after losing T:
Bone density loss, anemia, to mention just two that spoil your whole day.

An ochie has no effect on the voice, whatsoever. The only way to reverse any of the effects of male puberty on the voice box is VFS(voice feminization surgery), but that only raises the pitch, so voice coaching is also required to brighten resonance and undue a lot of the male speaking patterns one has been socialized with. It's a frustrating process for those who are MTF, but a blessing for those such as the author of this post who want to keep their current voice.
