The reason I'm setting up the other platform is less about chat and more about a central area admins and Mods can share information, keeping it separate from the forum.

If we have meetings we have a platform to host it on etc...

Chat is just an added feature

If talking about a chat item, I don't know that I'd be interested - I've never played much with chat stuff and the little I have left me rather underwhelmed.... I'm OK w/ emails, or possibly virtual meetings ala Jitsi or equivalent...
